Mail Courier Items Disappear if you try to claim & don't have an open slot

When will this be fixed? This has been happening to me frequently but until the GM replied to my email (which took nearly a week), I didn't understand what was going on. By my calculation, I have LOST 250,000 Astral Diamonds worth of items that I purchased at auction, tried to claim not knowing my inventory was full... and they are GONE. Several of those items were Rare and only 1 of each has been available over the last week. This is a serious problem... especially if people are losing millions of AD from items lost.
Why am I able to claim something that I don't have room for to begin with? This isn't happening anywhere else in the game. You could also program a function into the Mail Courier that tells you how many open slots we have available.
