Trade bars and such

Just trying to get opinions on what are the most worth it items to get with the trade bars. Obviously the Nightmare is purely cosmetic, but as far as the companions, are they worth the trade bars or am I better off snagging wards and such? Cant quite trust the Auction house price for companions, so just trying to get the opinion of other avid players enjoying the game
Most likely the only one who has read every Salvatore book since he started and wont name myself Drizzt, Wulfgar, Bruenor, ect.
