I know that [Nickname] will replace the [Nickname] with the characters name, but i don't know about the others.
On an unrelated note, since I seem to be unable to make my own threads for some dumb reason, is there I way I can add an item directly to the players inventory when they accept the foundry quest, and then make them inspect that item with a dialog tree?

You can drop an item and let the character inspect it. However, one thing I will caution everyone with is this:
Some people dont have allot of bag space. Foundries atm do not have a capability of putting vendors/traders int he foundry. Drops are RNG. I had someone rate me a 3 because they got toomuch loot and no vendor/trader. We as foundry people have no control over what is dropping - the frequency or the ability to put them vendors in the foundry. With that being said, I would encourage people to think about the free to play players who have limited bag space. You can always ROLEPLAY that they got an item. Getting back to your question arcineth.
Arcineth let us pretend you want a player to read inscription on a key. Here is what I would. Make a quest to inspect the quest item. When the player inspects and interacts with the object - they will get a text of what you wanted to do. You can roleplay and tell the player that the inscription says, "BLA BLA BLA" and that the player put the key in his pocket. At the same time, have the key object disappear when that specific quest is finished. This will, with a bit of sleight of hand and subterfuge trick the player into reading a text you want them to read AND roleplay the character into believing they have picked up this object - in this case a key with inscriptions on it.
Now you have accomplished your objectives and have added a realm of roleplay that does not cost a player a bag space slot.
Now luthor8. Sadly, there are no functions that ask or gives that information. Sorry.
[nickname] works but only in the responses - it wont work on the main dialog. For the items, just give 1 item at a time and have the objective take it away. The other info could be suggestions to the devs, I can see things like knowing the sex to be interesting.
We don't have these variables yet, but there have been many requests for them in the past. There's so much fun we could do with them, as the OP points out.

i have been trying to make this work as well, but it doesn't work on player's responses, only on NPC lines.. which i think you meant.
Odd, that our character can never utter his/her own name....
also, knowing the class/race/sex would save us a lot of headaches...
