Just realized when going into the foundry thats their looks to be a limit on the quests you can make to 10. Is this actually true? Was looking forward to making maps but if I'll only ever be able to make 10 seems kind of silly to really get to deep into learning the editor.

Yes, 10 quests is the limit. I'm sure they will sell more slots in the zen store at some point, and maybe open more slots for higher level Foundry achievements.
Yea it wouldn't take me that long to reach the max of 10. And if they charge people for more quests slots that is INSANE. Charging people to be able to put out more free content for THEM is the craziest thing I've ever heard of.

By charging for slots, it limits the amount of bloat in the foundry database that otherwise would not be there.
And remember, you can convert Astral Diamonds to Zen. Try playing other people's foundry missions for the daily Foundry AD reward.
And no... You are not creating content for CRYPTIC. You are creating content for your fellow players.

Hopefully they will add more slots according to how much activity your current ones get. I understand the need to keep bloat down, but if the persons current quests reach say 20,000 4 star ratings (they could decide on what the appropriate numbers are, i'm just giving an example) then the author would get a free slot opened up. The idea being that if enough people like that authors content I don't see why Cryptic would not want to allow people to continue getting more content from that author.
To sirsitsalot, you are creating content for Cryptic. Your intention might be to create content for the players, but any content that is created for the game also benefits Cryptic as it adds more content for people to consume and thus extends the viability of the game.
I would also agree that having to pay, regardless of whether you can exchange AD for zen or not, to add more content to the game for Free, as far as Cryptic is concerned, would be horrible.

I guess it is a matter of personal perspective as to who foundry content is being designed for. Personally I would be designing it for the satisfaction of knowing that others may enjoy it. I do not have to pay a subscription. If I want to buy additional slots for foundry quests so I don't have to take down my old ones that aren't really being played much anymore, then I will. Otherwise, I'll create my 10 missions, taking my time with each, and then drop the oldest one when my newest one comes out. Another thing I plan to do is avoid writing a series of chained stories. Each quest would be complete unto itself. That makes dropping older missions less painful.
What I would like to see is Cryptic implement a quest exporter. It would generate human readable text listing all the user-settings for a quest, including costumes, story sequences, dialogue and whatever. This way those who don't want to buy additional slots can actually have a guide to reconstructing quests that they have pulled. I can understand why they would not want someone to be able to import data. If the data is tampered with and passes the import process it could screw things up. But a reference file would be good enough for me...

Be glad it's 10 lol it was only 3 quests and 3 campaigns total in Alpha. The other thing to note is it's 10 quests, but that doesn't mean 10 maps. You can have I believe 4-5 maps in your Foundry quests, so it still gives you tons of options to create and do what you want to do. Personally I am still in the process of building my Foundry quest (resource limit changes forced me to scrap my 80+ hours quest i had built in alpha, and now I have spent around 45+ on my current re-make) It takes a lot of time especially if you are building from scratch and not using pre-made maps. So mileage will vary depending on the person and the types of content they enjoy creating.

This topic interests and offends me greatly, and I'd like some kind of clarity on it.

Also, if your quests get featured, they don't count against the limit from what we've been told.
