I get 300-340 ms and I have no problems playing the game. EU players have it easy compared to us Aussies, we deal with this in every MMO.

Not sure if this is on-topic but I thought I'd drop in and say that from NZ my ping is between 275-300ms always but I find the game completely playable in PvE but I don't PvP so can't comment on that.

Only downside I've noticed is the occasional rubber-banding, not a big deal and that as a GF I have to block a good second before anything is going to hit, but I'm used to it already and I hope it shouldn't be an issue come harder end-game dungeons etc.

Oh please, stop hiding behind your cute avatar..... 200ms isn't that big of a deal in NW. But hey, it's easier to complain about latency all the time then to improve your own skill. If you need 50ms in your MMO, play something that doesn't use single server tech and stop complaining about stuff that's not going to change anyway.

I can fight another Rogue, i jump into the air a little faster then the other rogue when using dazing strike, but im the one getting dazed

What does the cat avatar have to do with the fact that 200ms is noticeable? Are you not able to have a normal debate without personal attacks and fits of immaturity? What is your ping, then?

One of the other PWE games that use the same architecture did get a EU located server after a year or two when European players kept having latency issues. What we do here is give feedback in a calm, factual matter. The one person who seems to constanly keep trying to start a mud slinging contest is you. If you have no latency issues and are not even from Europe, why even post here? It does not concern you and it would not impact you if they added a EU server.

I just learned that the forum does have an ignore list.

I found the link to the announcement when EU servers were added. I do find the game very playable and I only notice the latency in PvP, so I am not sure it is a priority, but it's good to know that PWE has a track record of being aware of the issue and realize that EU servers lead to "a significant reduction in server lag", as they put it: http://pwi.perfectworld.com/news/?p=280931

Agreed ! This is an issue for a lot of EU players who like to be at the competitive edge in game and that means having a good 'ping'
I never played UT, DAOC, EQ1, EQ2, Rift, COD series, BF series, LOTRO at 150+ ping because it would have sucked big dogs chuff ! I know Cryptic has a certain server setup in the US , what I am saying is you will more than likely lose EU players because of this setup (players hit cap and start dabbling more and more in PVP for example - Here they will see the 'handicap' issue ! Handicap is the right word to be using because when you start playing good player in the US on 20/30 pings you will be at a disadvantage trust me !

Some Wiki descriptions of Ping , Lag & Latency

In multiplayer online video games, MMOS, MMORPGS, MMOFPS and FPS ping (not to be confused with frames per second) refers to the network latency between a player's computer (client), and either the game server or another client (i.e. peer). This could be reported quantitatively as an average time in milliseconds, or qualitatively as low ping or high ping. The latter usage is common among players of first-person shooter and real-time strategy games. Having a low ping is always desirable because lower latency provides smoother gameplay by allowing faster updates of game data.

Ping is often conflated with latency. High latency can cause lag.

Just to finish , and to clarify .. I play the game almost everyday and my ping is avg 150/180 , I hardly ever get 'lag' , I am not concerned about lag - Ping is my issue here because in combat it makes all the difference if you are 'handy capped' by a high ping
I would regard the combat system concept as great - However in reality (for EU players) it is sluggish and fluffy round the edges :-(
Ultimately EU server/s mega server is probably a major cost issue/hosting issue, company politics whatever - Such a shame !
It will probably never come to pass :-(

Yeah the ping is redicilous in EU and they say it's a global game.... I'm always between 130-300 ping it's very annoying make an EU server tbh. My MS is fine with 20 ms but Ping and MS isn't the same...

i dont know why you guys are complaining, i am in australia and get a steady 400, and i have no issues with game play i dont even notice it, and i am a successful PvPer.

200 ping is .2 of a second delay, its not something you notice.

it really becomes and issue then it gets higher then 500 thats when it becomes and issue.

also dont expect much from cryptic so far with this game they havent put alot of effort in.

Mate - You are happy with a 400 ping .. I could walk the dog and make a brew in that time .. Good Luck Skippy !

i am french and game is insane ,and specially for pvp ,we are draw-backed with that lag. i am with 250 ping in quiet hours and when i pvp ,i cant do nothing with my guardian ,one control on two work , and fighting is surreal. I don't do pvp anymore because its a pain .Pve its sport too but less hard than pvp , i take boss damage when i just see him beginning to move , no way to block.

We really need a localized server to be at equal chance with us ppl in pvp.
