Hey all, I'm at a loss regarding DM/description text mid-screen.
I've cheesed it by adding extra/hidden objectives to trigger midscreen messages ("The shadows swirl and take shape around you - it's an ambush!"etc.), but I'm sure I played through one in which the author used red error text for the same effect.
How is that accomplished, or is there an even better trick for handling this? I've checked videos, searched the forums and experimented - but I'm just not seeing it.
Thanks in advance for any tips or recommended specific tutorials/reference material.
You can have a quest objective to reach a location and it will give a mid screen popup when you reach the place marker.
Or for an interactable, make it so that you need a dummy item to have a successful interaction, but don't give the player the item. Then have the error text be what you want to pop up.
There's going to be a better solution for this in the future. The devs have talked about it multiple times, so I assume it's one of the first big features we'll get after this week's release.

This is good news, because if you use a quest objective it makes this 'pling' 'objective complete' and nobody cares about the rest of the text.

That error message is what I was looking for.
That they' be expanding on this in the future is great news.
Thanks again.
