Hey all!

New to this side of the Community so hello there! =)

I have a vision and The Foundry is going to help me create it. The idea is to have a hub for roleplayers of all types to group up and get together.

So here is a taste of my vision//

- No quests
- no encounters
- lore friendly dialog and interection with NPC's
- hopefully multiple zones. eg (large town would be where players spawn in, then option to port to another zone which would be tavern)

What has been done//

- A number of named NPC's with script ready to be applied into The Foundry
- Location!!

I've only just started so there wont be an eta. But I will update on here!

Unfortunately, your roleplayers will have to meet up before they can go to your hub. There is no way to enter a quest separately from the other players (though you can leave separately using an abort exit).

It is certainly an ambitious dream, but probably one that I'd wait on until more zones and modes are added to the Foundry. Hopefully we'll be capable of creating our own zones one day, or at least a place as you described, where players won't have to meet together in a party to find each other in the Foundry area.

Not possible, sadly. As like you, I also had similar plans when I first learned of the foundry and began experimenting.

Consider the foundry a tool to make mini quests that players play, then move along to someone elses mini quest. (rinse repeat). As it is, your first impression on players is most likely your last. There really isn't any reason to repeat a player's quest... unless you like redundancy and predictability.

Though, the suggestion of adding such abilities as you brought up have been presented to the devs in countless threads. So take comfort in knowing you're surely not alone.

I understand completely but loop holes in quest chains can be created and I know the tricks for that. It's easy to have your "quests" act like zones such as "Neverwinter City" where players can roam around. The only down fall for my plan is that only parties can join. But for roleplayers that like RPing with a select few, What I'm making hopefully will be a nice retreat for them. =)

Great idea. I'm planning to do something similar for my guild. They mentioned plans to allow this sort of thing in the future, but no idea what or when.

Considering the areas are instanced (virtual copies/clones), it's unlikely any two players would ever meet in the same area/quest.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but this cant be created. No more than 5 characters, all part of a single party, can be in a Foundry mission. Also, you can not return to the same map, so you can't leave your town and then return to it (technically, you "can" by using the duplicate map function in the Foundry, and then sending the players to a duplicate map, however you can't do that dynamically, so no going and returning whenever you feel like it). Also, "party must gather before venturing forth", so you can't have party members in different areas.
