This is a slightly annoying fight for a melee character. Having previously done it with a DC and a CW, I was half asleep when I engaged him.
Bad mistake.. ouch, death.
I actually had to care a little bit about the fight. I did it with a poorly-geared glass cannon GWF. I actually avoided as much damage as possible, so comments are largely transferable to the TR. I'll explain in a generic way, as it might help.
The things I did:
Run out when the boss stays doing his circular AoE. It hurts.
Avoid the frontal AoE on the boss.
When adds spawned, I moved quickly to the weakest add (typically an archer) and nuked them down. I repeated this, reducing incoming DPS as fast as possible. Whenever the boss got to where we were fighting, I would hit shift, and get out of range. The boss would chase, and I could run back and finish the add. Rinse and repeat until that wave of adds was down.
I was using the cleric companion. It's pretty stupid, and dies a lot. However, when there are no adds up, and the companion is down, you just need to wait until the boss is doing his slow AoE charge up. This gives you loads of time to rez your companion. You can do this every time he charges up, if need be- as you don't want to be in melee range right then anyway, so there's little else to do
It's not a hard fight per se, it just requires that you pay a little attention and avoid tunnel vision. If you've been facerolling through outside world trash mobs, this can be a bit of a shock.
