Hi i really cant login to the game since yesterday. anyone having the same problem as me? i bought the hero pack and downloaded the client. but im having issues logging in. i enumerated the things i tried below.

1. downloaded client from your site. "Neverwinter NW.1.20130416a.3"
2. installed the game.
3. after entering my login details i immediately get an error saying "oops your cryptic application has crashed"
4. i disabled my firewall, uninstalled teamviewer and xfire
5. after above step i was able to patch 3.xxgb but when i click play i see the cryptic screen then crashes again same error.
6. i checked updates on my machine and drivers on my video card etc.. all is updated.
7. tried again and now its just stuck on patching but nothing happens.
8. i uninstalled. deleted cryptic folder. and reinstalled again and "ran as administrator"
9. i disabled UAC
10. still no go.
11. tried different compatibility modes still stuck at patching no errors but nothing happens.

i'm running out of things to check. any suggestions will be much appreciated.....

You are 100% sure that you system meets the requirements to play Neverwinter?

Have you also ran an RAM Check to make sure there is no issues with the progress becoming stuck within the ram memory, which could be causing the application crash?

Are you also using a laptop or a desktop?

Are you able to go to control panel and try to repair the game app?

Also don't forget the basic one of running the computer is safe mode with internet and then running the application. Sometimes that can actually work for some weird reason.

Your DXDIAG doesnt seem to report a video card. What is your video hardware? Also, you ran the 32 bit dxdiag on a 64 bit OS. Try running the 64 bit dxdiag... and be aware, HP *loves* to ship computers with on-motherboard "Intel Hi-def video" hardware.

If you don't have a separate video card, chances are thats your issue.

NVIDIA GTX 260 - would this meet the requirement?

Also if you want you can private message me your full dxdiag and msinfo and I will try and have a look.

Also if you have any anti-virus running in the background while trying to do this (loading the launcher) turn the off. If you are using Norton, uninstall that <font color="orange">HAMSTER</font> instantly as that's a source of a lot of major problems.

Did both of you play in any of the beta weekends?

Because system wise you both are perfectly fine, so this is not a hardware related issue, but software/drivers.

Have you tried to maybe use the new beta drivers that were released this month? I remember reading quickly that it had some improvements for Neverwinter.

Yes, it exceeds the recommended. Does it have dedicated vRAM or only shared vRAM, and have you updated to the latest driver for it?

Yeah they both have the latest normal drivers from nvidia.

I was referring to them giving the beta drivers a try that were released 3 days ago.

    GTX 260 beta drivers: http://www.nvidia.co.uk/object/win8-win7-winvista-64bit-320.00-beta-driver-uk.html

GTX 660 Ti beta drivers: http://www.nvidia.co.uk/object/win8-win7-winvista-64bit-320.00-beta-driver-uk.html

Ah okay they are both the same link, but maybe this will work to allow you both to get by the crash you are having. Personally I know I haven't updated my drivers for a good couple of months >_<

I just tried with the latest nvidia drivers version 320.00 and is still crashing.

There is something in the logs, so this is most likely related to patching.

Hmmmm, can you turn off your router for 30 seconds and then turn it back on. Maybe doing a packet flush may help.

Deep, just try moving it to another location and renaming the folder, for just in case purposes.

    Hi guys, Cryptic programmer here.

I'm sorry to hear that you guys are having trouble patching up to get into the game. The first thing you should do is head over to Tech Support and file a ticket so our troubleshooting team can help figure out what's going on ASAP.

If you are seeing errors about reading files, you should first rule out a problem with your hard disk or RAM. Specifically, the errors about "hoggs," "DataList," or "patchclientlib" all indicate something that is disk or RAM-related. Problems with one of those two components are one of the largest causes of this sort of problem.

    To check hard disk:
Open the Windows "Event Viewer" and look for any errors about the hard disk. Usually they'll show up with a red icon and say something like "corruption" or "bad sectors."

    To check RAM:
    A. On Windows 7 or higher, run the "Windows Memory Diagnostic" tool that comes with Windows.
    B. On other versions of Windows, there is no built-in tool, so you will have to use a third-party tool such as the excellent free tool Memtest86+ http://www.memtest.org/

If both of the above are clean, I would suggest uninstalling the game and running the installer again.

Tech Support will be able to help you with the above, if you have any questions, and they will also have more ideas for things you can try.
