Companions left behind...

While questing this this weekend, i've noticed companions standing around various places, without their masters. I tried to bug report this, but it failed, so i'm posting it here.

This is the screenshot that was taken for the bug report. I cropped it and tried to lighten it a little bit. The dog closest to me, Heracles, is mine. But the other dog and all of the "people" standing behind me are other players' companions, but there are no other players close by. They were standing there when i entered the Neverdeath area, walked around for a minute, came back to the gate, and all while i typed up the bug report that failed. I've seen them all over, at campfires, gates, and in random places around Protector's Enclave.

    I saw them all gathered up out Protector's Enclave door as well. I thought something exciting was about to happen, then my friend told me they were all companions standing there.

    The random orphans around PE didn't make any sense to me. But I saw throngs of them at Overland Map areas, like gate teleporters (where you transfer to other zones, etc.) I suspect one of two things (or both) - either the companions are creating doppelgangers - player transfers to new zone, companion is "recreated" in new zone to be with them AND old version still at exit point. Or the player's crashed or quit the game and their companions aren't getting the memo that it's time to go home and relax.

    It was rather interesting to see them all standing about.

    I also noticed they disappear in the instances and you have no idea where they are. It looks like you dont have one out thier icon is missing but if you check the character screen it says they are summoned.

    Atleast the missing doomguards dungeon did this to my companion. As it did with the mobs too. Sometimes she came back, sometimes not. I could get her back by unsummoning and the summoning her again.

    I managed to bug report this.
    Apparently when you leave a map the game isn't clearing the companion avatar from the area you teleported from.
    At one point there was a good 25 or more companions standing by one of the Protector's Enclave gates. :rolleyes:

    Yeah that's what it looks like. But also seems to be doing it when players log out of the game maybe. I saw 3 or 4 clerics standing around the campfire by the old guy ranting about his rickets in the Blackdagger area, which is nowhere near a gate. I also saw a wizard standing on the stairs in the middle of Protector's Enclave pointing and laughing at passers-by for quite awhile. I was able to get a bug report in for that wizard i think.

    LOL well that explains why there were so many "players" standing around at the gates in PE! I saw them, but they were mostly in my way so I just moved around them & through the gate. Never occurred to me to check & see if they were something other than other players!

    Any chance of this getting fixed? I mean its probably half of the lag problems people are having...
    Not to mention the out of memory errors.
