    Rule number one...

    If you say it's simple/easy it's not.

Multi-classing opens a whole world of issues.
First off there is NOTHING simple about balancing multi-classing.
Secondly look at the way powers work. There are no basic attacks and powers are tired directly to classes and weapons. You can't do a sly flurish with a greatsword for instance.

    Easy there turbo.

Simple, make some skills all-class skills. Like, a certain buff or technique or spell. You can switch in town between classes, like hey my group needs a healer but i can't find one.. viola good thing i'm already a great healer. I can switch to healer to heals. Also since I trained my CW I can use basic CW skills, or buffs.

Really you just got to limit options people can use, in a semi-realistic sense.. Obviously if you're a mage or cleric you're not going to be slashing around like a rogue..

I'm not sure how much this has been brought up, but what in the world is going on here? How can anyone call this D&D?

Has anyone considered, you know, talking to people who play D&D before making a new game? I have a solid group of a dozen friends who were all kinds of excited when they heard about this game... until they found out that it's 4th edition, including no multiclassing.

Now, they're trying to get me back into their 3.6 PnP group... and with DDO turned into a WOW clone and this game going nowhere, unless I want to reinstall NWN2, I guess that's my only choice for D&D, huh?

I was really looking forward to this game ;(

DDO a WoW clone? They may have added more of a grind to the game, but it is still nothing at all like WoW, lol.

Never take anyone seriously who refers to a game as a WoW clone.

Seriously, i still play it off and on (both actually), and there is even less grind now in DDO (more quests, lowered xp needed) than when it started, and even has epic destinies, multi-classing, and more each time. How anyone can call it a WoW clone is beyond me.

I love DDO the town hub gets old but i love the slayers....running around in open areas getting kill counts almost feels like an open world DnD mmo especially with the naritive, I'm really hoping that one day someone makes a MMO just like DDO thats open world with better graphics. Multi classing is a plan ahead use your brain kinda character creation that not everyone can wrap their head around, some people just want their pre planned cookie cutter slight deviations and slight variation paths.. I like being different...

oh and by the way to the OP... you don't have to ever re install NWN2 after you install it just copy it to an external its a portable game after that... don't ever have to install it again just run from external on any rig... or at least that's what i do:)

Multi-class would be interesting. My memory may be failing me here but in basic DnD that I started in my youth an elf was almost like a part fighter/magic user and leveled more slowly as a result. Certainly in advance DnD there were multi-class characters but regardless it would be interesting to see in the future. Perhaps after maxing out as one class you could restart as another and level again. In STO during end game we now are working through rep systems. Perhaps at that point there could be some type of fusion between the 2 classes you leveled to create a final multi-class end result. Another option would be to require significantly more XP to advance in level, perhaps double. Im sure there would be difficulties in implementing any system but it might be something we could ask them to pursue. The cryptic games improve like an old wine…
