Hi,

Foundry is the most interesting system in NWO (for me), i didnt have the chance to explore it in depth during BW3, so i have a lot of questions i cant wait for Open Beta or Release (whatever comes first) to get answered, since some of you may know the things i dont, i have thought on posting here my questions, i encourage you all to post yours and i will try to keep this post updated with the Q&A so we can somehow complete the brief Official Q&A here

Thx in advance

UNANSWERED QUESTIONS

1- Im pretty sure we are not supposed to finish a Foundry Project in a single session, so i suppose we can save our in work project for later, right? and how many in work Project can we work on simoultaneously?

2- If working on a campaing, does all the quests in said campaing count as a single project? or are they sepparate ones?

3- Will it be possible to make a multi-quest dungeon? i mean, a big dungeon where you can complete a main quest and some side quests in a single run.

4- Does Foundry allow for setting patrolling mobs? if so, can we set the patrol path map wide or just section of map? if not, will we be able to set up any kind of non static spawn?

5- I have read we can choose the kind of items droping as quest reward, do we have any kind of control over the loot on mini-bosses?

Unfortunatly we dont know anything about the foundry outside of playing quests. Some that have played with it might provide answers but i have questions too.

    1. Is it possible to include cutscenes?
    2. Can we record wave files, compress them or include audio in any forms?
    3. Can we make path choices or can we only only make linear pathing ex:get this quest, get this item or kill x number of mobs or can we have people choose to take the right side or left side of a road and make choices matter?

There is alot of stuff we just know nothing about the main feature of this game.

And can we at some point have a Foundry forum at least a few weeks before the game launches so that we can prepare and craft our quests or campaings and get some feedback from the people that have been working with it and experienced with it.

    1-You can save.
4-There is patrols, if you've done some on beta 3 a lot of quest had patrols in them.
    5-Loot is all random.

    That's all I can answer.

@Kimonagi #3 if you did tilts quest a hidden blade, I think it was called. You had to figure out where the half-elfs room was. If you was a rogue you could bypass a lot by picking doors and such. If you wasn't you had to figure out what room. It wasn't too hard but you had to think a little. To some though it was the end of the world cuz they didn't have the glow line leading the way. I found the Inn an amazing part of the quest.

In The Mark of BtG there is an option, of killing a spider tamers main pets and harassing him for information. You can choose to not fight, but later you have to pick between 3 mugs of endless beers. The wrong one gives you a big surprise you wouldn't like.

Zebulars 3rd quest had a maze in it, with my future elf wife. :) boy she was perty.

Thunderspanker had a small maze in the crypts, then in his forest map, he had journals with lore in it, off the path. If you like to explore like I do.

Gilrimmn(I know I spelled that wrong) Had I great lore quest, a of solving through reading his quest.

These are just a few examples of some of the quest I played beta weekend 3, not sure if you two played this past weekend, but a lot of stuff could be figured out by just running a few of the UGC. I did 15 to 20 Saturday morning/afternoon, then I played the evening with wife and son, which by the was was EPIC fun. I had a ton of computer issues last weekend or I prolly would of done everyone of the quest. Well I getting of topic I hope that answered a little.

    Thank you for answering.

I didnt play them in the last weekend. The quests you mention were great and i enjoyed playing all of them in the first 2 betas. My question is more about what can we do i guess.

Can we script and can we use audio?

Last one i dont think anyone can answer, the one about when will we get a foundry forum. Some of you have been working with it for some time and you will be the main source of info about what we can and cannot do but we cant really interact right now.

Can we script and can we use audio?

There is no scripting per-say. It is all done with built in tools.
You can use audio but you can not upload your own.
Both of these are for a number of reasons revolving around preventing players from breaking the game and/or violating copyrights.
when will we get a foundry forum.
There will be a foundry forum but when it will be accessible is unknown. Remember The Foundry is still witheld by an NDA so the answers you are receiving have either been confirmed by a developer or are minor issues which wouldn't be a huge deal to tell you the answer to.

The specifics of the Foundry Mechanics are still quite secret so...*shrugs*
Your guess is as good as mine. It's up to the developers when they want to open up that information. :)

There are five delicious pages full of answers to questions like the OP has, located here:

    http://nw-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?66301-The-Foundry-Questions-Things-Hoped-to-Exist-in-the-Foundry!

If you're genuinely curious about the foundry - I recommend starting with the first post on the first page and reading your way through. The answers are either pretty specific, or at least give you a very strong idea regarding "yes" or "no" at the very least. Very few "I don't know" in there.

Foundry beta testers follow that thread and try to answer questions as best we can (without breaking NDA< of course).

Nice thanks, trying to figure how to go around making my modules. Probably best for me to start really small with short quests and build up on that.

Actually, this one is a Ferrari while STO is Ford Model T. But both of them have a break and accelerator and steer in the same way.

I second this. I have created so many STO Foundry missions over the last two years that I'd even purchased extra slot. STO Foundry is a Ferrari for sure. But this, THIS is a Bugatti!
