UGC is a huge part of the LittleBigPlanet games for PS3, and I think Media Molecule got it right with their implementation. It's been awhile since I delved into custom levels, but from what I can remember I thought there were a number of great ideas that would work well with Neverwinter:
- As I've seen mentioned around here, allow other users to select maybe 1-3 predefined tags after completing a Foundry quest. Things like Story, Farm, Funny, Platformer, Heavy/Light/No Combat, Lore, etc. Aggregate the tag votes and allow quests to be sorted by tag(s).
- More social interaction! Every account could have a public user page where you can see their subscribed authors, quests they've rated, favorite quests, etc. You could 'watch' someone to see when they've added any favorite quests or subscribed to any authors. This would enhance visibility of good quests between people who share similar tastes.
- I'm not sure if this is a good or bad suggestion, but one thing I remember about LBP2 is that you didn't give levels a numeric rating... you indicated whether you liked it or didn't like it. I can't really think of any upsides about the current star rating... if anything, it does more to ensure that unless you have a five star rating your quest isn't going to be played (or, at the very least, very hard to find amongst the sea of supposed mediocrity)... the so-called four-star hell.
- Incentivize playing and reviewing new quests... maybe provide a small reward (500-1000 AD) once per day for reviewing a quest created recently or with a small number of reviews. There'd probably have to be a minimum amount of time spent in a quest to provide the reward to prevent exploits with single objective quests.

Great feedback (and ideas), thanks guys! I'd quote the last two posts, but basically I agree with every single word in them.
Unfortunately it seems like we won't be able to move from the star rating, it's strongly embedded into the system... even though I personally agree that 'like/dislike/neutral' is better for UGC.

Chapter 1 - The Ruins of Webcrag --- Chapter 2 - Don't get your hopes up. Bored of the game.
