is the drow race for all available or only for the founders? 200 dollars for a race is too much for me
or are they not yet available and come back later?
greetings!

The founders pack is for a background, not the race itself. It's just not been released yet, when it is all will be able to play it.
Guys the Founders pack has the "MENZOBERRANZAN RENEGADE". In other words you know those people who make their characters within a game that is like a character already made? You know like you go to play something like DC Universe online and you carbon copies of Batman,Superman,Spiderman,Ironman (because some moron has no imagination). Anyways Menzoberranzan Renegade is just a skin so those same people can carbon copy Drizzt instead of using his/her imagination to create their own type of drow. All players will have access to the drow race just not the fluff that Drizzt has don't ask me why they even did this lol because first of all anyone knows that Drizzt was not a Thief he was a Ranger and being that this game has no Rangers that is kind of sad.

Yep read that.
Was hoping someone would expand on that, as it is a little brief and lacking in detail.
Fairie fire is what? An attack spell? A glowing aura? A healing ability? is it useful, or just cosmetic like the tattoo?
And what tattoo's? A swallow on the hand? Mum in a love heart? or something a bit more interesting. Some images would be nice.
They are wanting money for this. So I'd like to know what it is I would be buying if I got it.
Shadow71, do a little research before posting please ... It's basically a costume from what I understand (it shows instead of your regular armor) and looks to be in the drow armor style (not something Drizzt wore after he emerged from the Underdark). Also included is a different tattoo and the Faerie fire ability (probably also fluff, a glow). There were more people than Drizzt who came from Menzo and since that is a large drow city in the area of Neverwinter it makes sense to have it from a RP stand point. If you were a fan of the setting you would know that. The panther is a direct take on Drizzt, but not the other things (the spider mount for example).
Some people like to actually research already established lore so their characters actually fit in the setting they are made in.

Well, seeing that this game uses pre-fabricated character classes, you don't need an imagination to play it. There is no way to create a unique character. Unless your talking about Appearance which is extremely limited and has absolutely nothing to do with gameplay.

Neither do people playing cookie cutter builds in games that allow non pre-fabricated character classes. Not that skills and gear define completely a character for a roleplayer.

I'll say this. The drow race WILL be available for free players, but for now, it appears they are showing the Renegade skinned option first as a thank you for Founder Purchasers.
As in Exclusive meaning first.
Later, the vanilla drow race (oh that just looked weird vanilla drow...with sprinkles...) will be able to be played by all players, but I can't say when that is, as that info has not been publicly released yet.
The powers are different but neither offer any advantage Pretty much darkfire gives a debuff to attack/damage for the enemy and the faerie fire gives a buff to attack/damage for the PC.
But in full disclosure, there is a chance the tattoo might make you look HAMSTER

Getting a buff that will affect incoming dmg to all your targets opposed to debuffing one target is a pretty distinct advantage between the two, imho. Especially for pvp.
Drizzt wins.

Don't be so sure, The Borg race in STO is only available to lifetime subscription players.. Same could be with this, that only $200 founders will be able to play it, that's what exclusive usually means.

Ouch!!
Youngling, let me school you Drow became a playable race in 1985. I've played one since then as did many folks probably even Salvatore. They were the cool kids on the block, as they had been protaganist up until that point. My Drow also wielded dual scimitars(traditional desert make) 3yrs prior to Drizzt appearance in The Crystal Shard as he hailed from the Forest of Mir near Calimshan.
Basic point, not every Dark elf player is Drizzt clone give it a rest, but if someone did want to emulate that character more power to them, it's a game, we have fun, that is all.

I'm in the camp of Drizz't being the "Twilight" of the DnD universe. If you make a character with twin scimitars, with a dark elf, you're going to get labeled.
Just like any day-sparkly-vampire story is now Twilight fanfic. Even though Dracula was walking around in broad daylight centuries before Twilight came out.
On my NWN PW, we had some inventive players. One went so far as to create a Drow elf named "Ano'ther Do'Urden". I would frequently laugh my butt off.

Weird, I thought they changed that when it went F2P.

Yeah they didn't change it with F2P, so no one can say it's 100% sure that people will get access to Drow.. It already says that the race will be exclusively available to Heroes of the North customers only (same way as it says that Borg are exclusively available to lifetime subscribers only). I doubt they will change that, and if they do they'll HAMSTER off a lot of people. If people want to play Drow you'll probably have to pay up.

The drow are free. Said many times. Also said many times that someone in Crypitc made mistake with those descriptions that wrongly say that drow (as a race) are exclusive of the Hero of the North pack (just a specific background). It's also surprising that, apparently, no one fixed those mistakes. Hell, hire me and I'll correct them myself.
Cryptic could aso change their minds and make humans a Store race. It could also happen in the realm of possibilities. The thing is, at this point in time, no current information validates it. Neither that drow will be payed race in Store or Hero of the North only race. Except for those apparently not fixed bad texts that only generate unnecesary confusion.
I hope they introduce alternate backgrounds for all the races. I'd like to play a tiefling, like the tieflings from Baldur's Gate two, as in a rainbow of different facial features. Red isn't everyone's favorite color.

Those are two of many that in resume come to say the same. Of course that Cryptic (or PW) could change their minds but so far the known information denies it. Unless the post of imtruthseeker in this thread means something different from what I actually translated in my brain.

That's great for those that really want to play Drow and not have to pay the $200 pricetag, really, really good. Still the unique background with the cool customizations is neat aswell, at least that gives the Hero of the North buyers something really unique, I do hope they don't lock that up for other players later on, which I doubt if we look at what they have done before in STO.

Those are not official quotes. Officially the cryptic has not made clear yet if races are free or not. They have only explicitly said that classes and adventure packs would be free. Nothing about races which are only assumed to be free.
There is high chance that they can be free, there is a chance that they may be paid.

I know in this day and age it is almost impossible to find information on the internet, so here, I found it for you.

This says a costume
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=tgLwfzBY_XM
and then the email you sent says were getting a background story.
"Unique Menzoberranzan Renegade background - Unique racial ability and cosmetic options"
Go marketing!
You know someone at Cryptic Studios is talling up the Hero of the North buyers saying, "Wow, so many suckers."

I've never played STO but looking at their site it still says you get the Borg for buying the life time subscription.
