I started playing this on Monday and enjoy it (even though it will be a while until we meet again to play).
We are playing with tournament characters and I get to play Fronkin Hodypeak a highelf F/MU 5/8.
We have had some interesting moments already and definitely funnier ones.
For example within the Stedding of the Hill Giant The thief and I went to kill one of the sleeping giants while the rest of the players watched the ones at the door. Well the thief didnt quite kill the giant so I finished him off. Then the ranger yells at the one at the door in Frost Giant,"Bow down before me or I will hit you in the nut-sack". Well hey runs up to the giant and swings right through for 16 points of damage. Then the DM tells us all the hill-giant understood was, "Popsicle ice-cube icecicle popsicle nut-sack" and I quoting Major Pain " ...if he aint dead he ain't happy"
Later on we found a room full of 12 young hill giants and I just decided to toss a fireball in there well I took out 4 giants and then another MU tossed in an icestorm I believe and took out 4 plus one that my fireball bought to 1 hp. Then the dwarf fighter and the dwarf, both invisible, finished them off.
It seem like a very fun module. I never have played it before.
If anyone wants to leave comments about their Against the Giants run throughs or anything else please do so.
Almost all of my D&D experience comes from homebrew campaigns. I never actually played any of the classic adventures before. I haven't played pen-and-paper D&D for awhile (I moved and don't have a group), but I'd like to find a group to play through some of them.

Younglings you killed? The dark side you have chosen!
Seriously played it again recently for the 4e rewrite a ton of fun. By your writings seemed you played the 1st or 2nd ed version perhaps?
I've still got it as well excellent module! Another great module is Tomb of Horrors, if you can locate a copy give it a shot, you won't be disappointed. Actually considering trying to make a 'similar' adventure using the foundry depending on if it will allow for that type of adventure.

The problem with tomb of horrors was that we could never use our real characters in it - it had to be a one-shot deal with specially made characters. The module isn't just about having the 'skills' to get though it... you'd need some mad luck to get even 1/2 way into the place without dying horribly!

The words "poor Aeofel" spring to mind. I still giggle when I recall Wil Weaton's face... Chris Perkins is awesome...

... considering our 'next stop' is a certain city ruled by the Lady of Pain, via the Shadowfell, I don't imagine it would be too hard to TPK us if it was in the cards. We've been remarkably un-dead recently though, which is maybe a bad sign.

Good grief...put away the Tomb of Horrors... That module was by far the toughest one I ever encountered. You know you are in a world of hurt when one of your party members die from a trap at the beginning of the dungeon.
G123 are classics. And they are a prequel to the D-series where you head into the Underdark. Good times.
D series is tough. Not ToH tough but a major challenge. I never finished the series myself but I had the modules. Oh how I wished we got the chance to kill Lolth...

That darn DMG 2 video keeps making me sing Lady of Pain I Adore You (and giggling that he's got a 10-foot pole.)
