Part I (Big Picture)

There is a problem when people are thinking how cool it would be to write story. story. We see movie or read a book and we can't understand how writer could come up with so many details and put them all together.

I'm not a writer and I never writed anything good but somehow i have a knowledge how many writers do their stuf and writing a story may not be so impossible for some of you after reading this.
To make a story a "Big Picture" we will need to know how to create something I call a puzzle, how to connect them and create library for them.

What is a puzzle? Puzzle for me is a part of text and when connected with other create a story. Puzzle is a category to which we keep adding similar ideas and create library.

common puzzles:

1. Place - I divide it into three types. Large, medium and small. Large is category where you put ideas of countries and lands. Medium is where you make picture of cities and vilages. Small describes buildings, rooms and any other small area.

2. Weather
- it's often describe the place so it looks nice when we write it connected with a place . It's not only about writing that is hot or cold we also can write how weather affect peoples and buildings. Also we can write about difference in weather now and days, months or years before.

3. Animals
- we can describe whatever we could imagine when our character is in forest or knight horses in a city. We can write about difference of horses in cold and hot cities. We can write about about what people hunt and eat.

4. Name
- Names, surnames, nicknames etc.

5. Body - how our character look. Tall, skinny, ugly etc. We can also write here about scars, cuts and accidents that affected body of our character

6. Personality - This is the hard part. Say that someone is good or bad it's not enough. This is category where we put as many personalities as we can even if they are weird or boring. It's good to look on people around us. Good training here is at least for one day analyzing chat with your friend at work/school. It's not only important what he say but also how he say it. One of things i did learn in my life is that always when someone talks about someone else he always show a little bit of his or her own view of the world and way he approaches it.

7. Feelings - love, hate, distrust ... never ending list

8. Plans - This not exactly need to mean story. People may have their own plans but they don't always have to be connected to our story. It's something that makes even not important to story characters more alive. We can write here many things from wanting to get married, revenge to having a cup of tea with a book after day of chopping peoples head off on execution grounds.

9. Clothes - not much to say here. Well we can connect it with weather, body and personality.

10. Event
- It can be dance party, circus, wedding, battle, fist fight

11. Item - from magic sword to love letter.
(there can be so much more puzzles all you need is to use your head)

So let's try to connect the dots.

(I'm sorry if my weak english doesn't feel right)

"Son of Ice Lord returned. Entering through the side gate of the castle Coldcraft (1) dirty like a peasant after work in the field (9) he felt wind like cold steel piercing through his body(2). His pride has long since fallen (6) and children's dreams flowed into the gutter.
Spankbottom Darius (4) returned on the starving horse (3) with a scar on his face (5) which could assured him a position in the occurring today circus in the castle(10) . Coldcraft was an old stone castle (1) created by the ancient kings of the western mountains and it give impression that castle seems to slowly kill its citizens (7) caught up in the eternal fog (2)."

(edit - when you write a dialogue it's nice to make a unspoken pause to write about one of your puzzles)
That is all you need to know to write a story, however if you want to write a good story just forget about everything you have just read.

Part II (my views, one-eyed twin)

Writing a story is like telling sarcastic joke, you just know that everyone will get it.

Punish "not reader" - if you ever care to create a story for your quest there is that cheap illusion in your head that someone is going to read it. Punish HAMSTER, create a quest with a trap that's going to kill them over and over untill they read your awe story.

Swearing is a rock for the idiot and sword for the wise. (well not on this forum and game but in RL go for it tiger)

Writing to many "Deep Thoughts" on one page means you are egocentric, but keep the ball rolling....

There is many people that may be offended when reading your wild story, but you should know two things. First it's a good story, and second they should be.

Truth it's somthing that people like, if they don't like it it means it's your truth.

TV is making people dumb. We live in era where stupidity and not knowing something is a value. You have my holly blessing to fight with these people.

People can change their mind after eating diner, but they also become more lazy.

Lack of Pepsi in the house is a sin.

Read good books.

One word.

END.
