So after reading a post about something else altogether, I hope that if they have mini-games in NW that they have Sava. If anyone has read the War of the Spider Queen books, sava is akin to chess in drow society, albeit more complicated and difficult, but it has a "gamble" element to it. In reverence to the Spider Queen, once a game you can roll a pair of die and if you roll two spiders you get to kill one of the opposing players pieces. It's a complete chance thing. I don't remember it in all, but this would be a great game to play in a tavern (especially in a drow tavern). Anyhow, if they add in mini gambling games, this should be one of the first. It's such a good game that Lolth and Eilistraee play it for centuries, I mean COME ON.

I'd love to see this implemented Master Hune ;-)
I never looked into the rules but the sava theme is used throughout those books and, as you said, as a generalized term in any strategic competition within the drow society/pantheon even in other lore.
I'd think it would be extremely interesting to get an opportunity to play the actual game, especially within a D&D setting such as Neverwinter.
It would work well with a cash shop system as well. They could have the mini's and order cards drop during play as random drops and then supplement that with sales of order card packs in the store.
I think various mini-games could give the Taverns and Inns even more functionality, I currently know two indy developers who are working on a MMO using the Torque engine and their Taverns serve as hubs for mini games...I think it's a pretty interesting way to go about it as it would theoretically cut back or eliminate the empty Tavern syndrome that games like EQ have.
For anyone interested, I found a site that actually has a ruleset for Sava. I believe they took what they could from the books and worked with the rest, so they're not "official" but I'd still play it this way, maybe slightly tweeked.

Haha! I never considered in-world RPGs. What do their characters look like? A 3rd level Dweeb, a 4th level Nerd, and a 3rd level Geek/Nerd played an elf, a dwarf, and a hafling, right? Do they have rules lawyers and grognards, too?
There's witcher style "dice poker" in the game as well.
I like the idea, but it's not sava from what I understood of the game in the books. That still looks interesting though, might be another one to add in.
I remember back in our NWN1 PW server there was a couple of our players that came up with the rules in game and would sit and play it while RPing, it ended up getting pretty popular and people would login just to play sava in the taverns etc. I even incorporated it into the lounge for the students in Melee-Magthere when I constructed it for our module. Im sure people from our guild will RP playing it in some way or another. And I know people do it on our chat based games. Kind of crazy how popular it became.

Sava, or sava-ish game? Chess is Savaish even.
