Open world events are fine but dungeon events is what i really want.
Should be rare and only have a low chance of happening but if it does happen i wanna be excited.

Since it's instanced that means it won't be zergy and wll be more challenging and should hopefully be extremely rewarding.

I'm pretty sure Cryptic will have a mixture of open world and Dungeon events, I'm more interested in letting the modders have the ability to list temporary or even seasonal events, that could be as cool as anything Cryptic develops.

Did I read wrong or didn't they already said that there would be instance based as well as server wide events?

Yea I'm expecting instances that will be very similar to what's available in DDO. I'm looking forward to seeing how they try to alter it, and dare I say improve on it.

Stormshade stated there would definitely be instanced events, so it's sounding like a big fat 'ole YES for dungeon events.

From the main page where event was announced:-
To that end, we offer several different types of events:

    Instanced Events

Instanced Events are queued, instanced content which are only available for a short amount of time. Players can sign up for these events from anywhere within the zone the events are in, and will be teamed up with a group of 4 other players to attempt to conquer the challenge set before them. You may find yourself fighting off hordes of orcs attempting to claim control of a special location in the zone, in a ?horde mode? type event. Or, you may find yourself storming the stronghold of a bandit lord. Regardless of what challenge you face, it?s a short break from ?the usual? questing in MMOs, and when you?re done, you?ll earn some great loot, and then travel right back to where you were when you entered the event.

So there are different kinds of events. If you have ideas for more events, you can suggest them if any devs is lurking in shadows with +10 to hide and...

    ... and assassin class...

The blog article was very clear both instanced events and live contests for a set period of time will both be used. And Cryptic has a good habit for doing the international holidays as themed-to-the-game-its-in limited time events also.

I'm guessing "dungeon" event means it takes place in a dungeon, right? I ask because I don't understand why that's an important distinction. What makes location important?

Dungeon events mean dungeon crawls which are delves which is what you have at the end of a chapter requiring mandatory multiple players.

I'm not sure they should be so rigorously tied to a particular end of something if the story doesn't call for a dungeon romp, but as one tool in a Swiss Army knife of storytelling devices, yeah, I can get behind dungeon events.
