If anyone reading from cryptic/pw
I am veteran d&d player, DM , biggest fan of NWN , created tons of modules and ran many campains in DM mode.
I would love to test Neverwinter.
So , if it maters anything, i would kindly ask for a beta key

Not to put you down but I think most of us are. I have played NWN for years along with DnD and other DnD games.
In my experience though begging doesnt work unless you can get a hold of an individual member of the developers and convince them you deserve it.

May I ask, to what purpose the hostility ( post above you to great extent ) ?
What purpose may your "I told you so" bring ?
Then let me tell you as someone that beta tested many games.
Yes , asking in forums helps. Not always. But sometimes.
And most definitely - it never hurts.
So, instead "I told you". You might post under me, saying: "I too have D&D experience, and would like to beta test the game"

I am sorry I didnt mean to sound hostile.(sometimes when typing things are taken wrong) Begging just never worked for me but then again Cryptic is a lot different than the game company whose name means a snow storm. I too would like a beta key I just wanted to wait to know if any waves of keys have gone out before I resort to begging,
I think also I have been in to many contest with people begging that it has "left a bad taste in my mouth"
and I know it doesnt hurt I may come to doing so soon enough.
Like I have said before sometimes I dont think as much as I should before I post.
In conclusion yes I do have experience in DnD, NwN, and other DnD based game experience and would like to beta test just like you do, and I would personally like to see every member of the forum in the beta.
and Cryptic I do think many of the loyal DnD fans need to be given beta so that we can help make the game feel like DnD

I know waiting for beta is frustrating especially since we are starting to see people with some form of access regularly talk about it over at Massively, Cryptic is trying really hard to bring us more than just another push it out the door fix it later MMO and doing that takes time.
I'm pretty much convinced that we will start seeing a ramp up in beta invites in late Oct early Nov and this time next year we will all be happily playing the game...how you can help Cryptic right now is to be a active community member read the FAQ tell them and us what you want to see and and you don't want to see, be welcoming to new forum members and yes a bit more tolerant.
It will pay off in the end..trust me.

Sorry I wasn't trying to be uncivil. I know we must wait for it to finish as I do not want another "Diablo3" happening. I am hopping for beta I have been waiting a good while for this game. Again I am sorry funkill. I dont mean to ever sound mean, angry, uncivil, intolerant, etc. on the forums.
I would like to welcome you Funkill and hope you have a good time on the forums and hope you are not angry or anything with me because of this.
Truly I want everyone on the forums to get along and work together. By the way Funkill, I know you may not want but I would like to invite you to join the Guild I will be running, or at least let me say I'm sorry over my guilds skype.

Cryptic won't give you a key because you make a give me key thread simply because if they do it will set a bad precedent and flood forums with "i can haz beta becoz..." threads piling up on useful discussions.
The beta has not yet been announced yet and we have been assured that there would be "many" opportunities to get a beta key. However, foundry beta is said be separate from actual beta as said by crypticmapolis somewhere in forums, and so that would be hard work rather than early access.
EDIT: I would rather guess that such threads may harm your potential chances - my opinion only though.
Its just the fact that we literally have a sticky at the top of the forum that covers the most common questions and then they come and literally post the same blasted question again. At one point we had 4 threads all asking for or when beta keys will be accessible on the first page of the forum. It gets old is all.

Yep and I get that, I really do.....but we are going to get asked that a heck of a lot more in the coming weeks, I have heard that several sites are going to be ramping up news and possible beta key giveaways soon, so expect the flood gates to open,
we are going to get:
The can't read a sticky to save their lives
The I'm just here to troll
The Cryptic did me wrong and I want revenge
The This isn't D&D because of X
The why not just make Neverwinter Nights 3
and every other type of poster imaginable, it's probably going to test all of our patience, but we are the core of this community and will probably be here answering questions and helping out long after the fly by nights are gone.

If you have beta access questions, read the first section (post) on my FAQ mentioned here before in regards to how you currently may get a beta key.
Asking for a beta key will not get you a beta key though. I'm not saying you'll be blocked from ever getting a beta key, just that way doesn't seem to work at this time in a pre-beta period including those who have "previous experience." However, it couldn't hurt participating in these forums and all of the other social media Neverwinter offers to raise your chances in getting a key sooner that gives you access to Neverwinter. But just speculation, no promises from me or others or anything.
But if the game is playable, why aren't we playing??
With the beta stages sometime before that (rumors from non-company sources say sometimes "as early as" late 2012 for Closed Beta.)
