Just wanted to introduce myself. Have been reading the forums and I am excited to play this in beta if I can get a key.
I have been playing PnP D&D on and off since like 1985 or so, read up on 4e some when it first came out but did not really get into it.
I have played just about every D&D video game to varying degree's over the years. I played DDO from Headstart until about 9 months ago (total of about 5 years). I liked the game alot and quit to get more healthy. Lost about 50 lbs. and I am thinking about trying this game if I can find more of a balance between game and life.
I loved the DDO combat. I have always preferred console games/controllers to computer mouse and keyboard. I felt the combat was so much more immersive in DDO than in point and click games like Baldur's Gate and NWN. Never even trid WOW for this reason.
From what I have seen the combat in Neverwinter will have more in common with DDO than WOW and it may be the next game for me.
I was an active member of a few guilds during my time on DDO. By active I mean I played alot and would always help out a guildie, a newbie, run with guild groups as much as possible and lead quests when I was the most qualified, but I never took a leadership role and stayed out of drama within the guild and the community at large.
If there are other DDO'ers out there I played on Thelanis, mostly in IFV as Pek, Levi, Hava, Justyn.
Hope to see you all in game soon.
Peace

Well met and welcome to Neverwinter!
I'd be willing to bet that there will be some base support for controllers since that is a part of the Cryptic Engine. Both Star Trek Online and Champions Online support gamepads. From what I have seen, it looks like Neverwinter will be playable with a gamepad as well.
Closed Beta should be rearing up soon*, so we shall know soon enough.
Hi and welcome as Iamtruthseeker said any questions just ask. There is plaenty to do on the forums from fan fiction to discussion to guilds I hope you have a good time here. In fact speaking of guilds as you have described yourself

I really would like you to check out my guild and join as you seem like a model player and guild member. I have info to get you to my guilds thread in my signature.
