Nice, I like that you all are adding lore. Any chance to get some "recap" info on what's been going on in Fearun all these years? I know there are a plethora of books, and I've read some, but I know I won't be reading them all. It'd be a nice thing to see. Heck even a condensed repeat of the STO timeline would be awesome for NW.

    Heya Varr!

You can get a short recap on our about page. If you want even more details, check out the Neverwinter Campaign Guide WOTC put out last year.

    Cheers,

Thanks, I picked up the Campaign guide a while back and might get the Fearun PH, but I know there is a plethora of stuff going on in the world of Toril since 4e came out. I'd love to see you guys weave where your story fits into that like a timeline.

Since they listed their About section, I'll be nice and requote what we can say without spoilerage:
The setting takes place in the Forgotten Realms 100 years after a catastrophic event called the "Spellplague." Faerum and the way all attack and non-attack powers adventurers use (especially magic) has drastically changed. While Neverwinter escaped most of the physical damage from the Spellplague for approximately seventy five years, an eruption (of the volcano Mount Hotenow) razed the city, and the city is seeing a new Neverwinter attempted to be rebuilt since ten years ago. However, monstrous creatures have settled in the "ruins" of neverwinter (Such as the Many-Arrows Orc Tribe,) and there is only a small portion "recovered" due to (the open lord of Waterdeep) Lord Neverember, the "self proclaimed protector and rebuilder of Neverwinter."

There is a little error in the dates, as a user once pointed out before (in the NW game description). So don't hang up too mathematically on their dates.
Check this and this and try to set the approximate era of dates.

Correct. I stopped updating my dates on that section because of the date skew. It's tough to decide what is cannon and just approximate with years than DR specific dates.

Found the date error raised before:-

The 9 year discrepancy isn't much, but it counts for us FR nerdlingers! I read the 'continues on from Gauntlgrym' bit somewhere as well, but that seems strange. Surely the game is set AFTER the 4th novel, not during the events of the 2nd-4th. Oh well, I'm salivating at the chance to run amok in my favourite campaign setting, regardless. Thanks for taking the time to reply. I'll see you on walls of Neverwinter. ;)

Why is the blackdagger pirate boss have to be 10 feet tall?

Probably because all bosses are enlarged to help players see the boss and and details that he might be doing.

A bit cartoony but understandable I guess, just think it unrealistic when bosses are the size of ogres (elves humans dwarves ect.)

I think he's not 10' tall just some camera tricks. But we won't know until we play.
