Just gonna put a list of what I want here since I don't wanna start a new thread on a topic that's sorta been covered before.
Classes we assume we're getting at launch -> Fighter, Rogue, Wizard, Cleric, Ranger
Most wanted based on 4.0 for me -> Warlock, Sorcerer, Avenger, Barbarian, Bard and Paladin if you can fit it in since it's so popular and all.
I don't care too much about the other classes so that's that really..
Warlocks are my main interest because playing an Eladrin Fey Warlock was definitely one of my highlights in 4.0. Lots of mobility with tons of charm effects, and a solid amount of power as well. I'd prefer playing that over a boring old wizard any day.
If we go by the class forums as an indication of what is in for launch, then I want to see the remaining core classes added for free shortly after launch (three months if possible): Paladin, Ranger, Warlock, Warlord.
I would like to see the next list added in within six month for a small price (give that Stormy hint there will be no subscription model for this game at all, if there is a sub, then I would like these to be free to subscribers):
Barbarian, Bard, Druid, Monk, Shaman, Sorcerer.
After a year or so I would love to see all of the above and the following offered in game as either free or purchases:

I know that technically warlord is core, but I really don't see it as one for D&D. I'd rather see monk and sorcerer over warlock/warlord. I know, it's supposed to be for 4th edition, but still. And agreed, classic classes should be before all the new ones, though I LOVE Avenger/sword mage. Played an Invoker too, it's kinda eh. Like a cleric of tempus basically. More battle, less cleric.

Yeah I just put Warlord in since it is in the Core, if I had my choice I'd rather see Barbarian or Monk take its place. Though any of the classics like Bard, Druid or Sorcerer would be great to see earlier rather than later.
Classes should be, and all indications indicate - would be, included on demand. The class most in demand would obviously be included before others - as devs have indicated. Making new classes is not very difficult(difficult as in too game-breaking to add) for this engine, and if new classes are required, they can be added.
So if monk demand supercedes avenger/warlord etc., it would be included first.
I am guessing, runepriest would be the last one to be added(not many people wanting that).
But I also believe that devs would like to balance roles also. Although strikers would be more in demand always, warlord would easily make it as there aren't that many leaders...

That makes sense, my list is simply my picks. Given the flexibility of the engine it has room for accommodating all the 4e classes as well as most of the species. Look at Champions and the ability to make custom builds for "classes". And STO's customer species generation tools.
I wonder if we might be able to customize spell animation colors and such like we could powers in Champions?
Is nobody else excited about new classes?
I mean ardent sword and psions? I was thinking they may have more popular following as they are kind of cool, but it seems that people still like old classes better.
p.s. ardent sword:- uses sentinent sword along with power of mind (like jedi knights).
psions:- basically non-illithid mindflayers - telekinetic or telepathic.

Why yes, I do like the newer releases...like Bladesinger. You're welcome for an actual character.

Not to burst your bubble, but Psions have been around since 2nd edition at least, so that kind of confuses me. Guessing you didn't know, but now you do. And knowing is half the battle!

I'm really interested in Ardent sword, one of the characters in the Shadowhaven campaign is a sentient sword...it would be very easy to work such a class into the story.
So after two weeks no developer response?? Are u going to try and hold out for D&D Next? Come on Cryptic what's up? This silence is not really generating any excitement in fan base, what happened to the Cryptic that used to be excited to share their ideas with the players and get thoughtful feedback?

You have been checking the main location here, right?
Yeah, I know it isn't enough of what a lot of folks are asking for but personally am happy the information is opening up, I think we will get a steady increase over the next month or so.

FvS is now Avenger. So root for avengers! I will too. The divine assassin and divine striker.
Swordmage
Avenger
Warlock
in that order, I loved those classes when 4th Edition first came out.
2 - Monk!
3 - Monk!
Any more and we'll have a barrel of Monk-ys

2.monk
3.paladin
4.barbarian
5.sorcerer
6.druid
7.bard
In d&d i make no compromise i want them all
If neverwinter online doesn't even have the neverwinter 1 classes what is the progres of the game ?

You should mean first edition. Nevertheless:
*pop* goes my bubbles.

Western monk it is. Ask Martin Luther how useful he was in his last dungeon raid.
The Knights of St John and the Knights Templar are considered warrior monks by most scholars.....still I like the eastern monk better.
Yeah that's true.....
