It certainly couldn't hurt! I suspect as the game development progresses and gets closer to Beta and release, a need will arise for moderators.
One bit of advice that I like to share with everyone that I learned a long time past is to "Always smile from the wrists down."

Nicely written. In case it is not 100% clear to everybody, it means respond politely no matter how you're feeling (especially if you are one with a moderator position.) I shall take these reminding words to heart from now on.
It also reminds me of what was said longer than what I am illustrating even here below, but it's the best one I can find so far that's still around and not lost to the BBS/forum ether.
Ummm I joined this list to discuss Harry Potter. I started out reading the
posts to my 6 y/o son and now I don't dare! Can we please keep the language
clean and enjoyable for ALL ages?

Speak like you would want to be spoken to
act as you would want other to act before you
and always....smile from the wrists down
Considering this post is over eleven years old (several generations in internet-speak) that says something to the timelessness of the statement.
Sorry about the silence on this. I was working intently on this thing called PAX...
Then I was catching up on everything else that I wasn't doing while I was working on PAX, and now I'm back!
So, my apologies for the silence.
That said, I've reviewed the applications for everyone who chose to throw their hat in the ring for this. So, if you applied, check your e-mail/tickets for a response.
If I sent you an interview form, you have survived the selection process into round 2.
If I did not, I still want to thank you for taking the time to apply. It takes, guts, courage, and dedication to even want to be a volunteer mod. So I salute everyone who sent in an app, and please rest assured, that I'm keeping your apps on file for future reference.
For the community at as a whole:
Our next step in this process is to see what the interview responses are. Once I go over those, I may find that I can't make up my mind about who the two will be, or I may find that we have precisely enough qualified candidates.
If the former occurs, a separate thread will be created for the poll.
If the latter occurs, I should be able to announce who the new mods are and start getting them trained next week.

very wise words indeed.

Best of good luck and fortune to all. I look forward to seeing whom we can choose from.
This city promises death for the meek, glory for the bold, danger for all, and riches for Jade! Elven Trickster Rogue: Two-bladed elf, tons of stabby stabby and that sort of thing...

I've narrowed the field to three potential candidates. As we only have room at this time for two volunteer commmunity moderators, please head over and cast your votes in this poll.

I saw this once from a Harry Potter site of all places, and these words in the post will work here today:

Thanks everybody!
