Wow andre, youve been busy here i see. Just wanted to drop in say hi. Seems llev, my ddo name, was already taken oddly enough. So i used one of my favorite spells from ol'pnp. Nice work here so far though. Tyrs will be strong in NW.

Thanks Llev. Look forward to running with ya in Neverwinter.
I'm more talking about alignment in the purist sense - the kind of character I am talking about would likely select neutral or evil for alignment in 4e.
I am intimately familiar with 4e and I DM tabletop and online... And have for years. In fact I've DMed every edition since 1981
Evil isn't stupid. Evil also doesn't mean "doing bad things for no good reason". An intelligent evil character isn't easily discernible from a true-neutral one in most circumstances. Evil characters will normally follow established rules, laws and traditions, though they'll look for ways to manipulate those to their benefit. If they have a particular agenda they strongly feel they need to advance they will take measures that others would shrink at... Assuming they believe they can get away with that action.
There is no reason a predominantly neutral party cannot work well with such a character... As long as they don't cross him or her.
Evil isn't stupid. Evil also doesn't mean "doing bad things for no good reason". ...
Nobody is saying evil is stupid to play because it obviously is not. But if you read rules of Tyrs paladium in forums, it talks about never leaving a guildy behind etc. An evil person will have no motivation to do that. A lot of 'normal' 'good' actions you would be completed to take have to be explained in role play.
On a second thought, it is perhaps do-able, but would still be very tough.

Without a login it's hard to pull much info from their forums... It has a high noise level so I had to go back and dig around a second time to find those rules But I found them.
I'd argue that "neutral evil" can demonstrate high levels of loyalty and other generally desirable characteristics... Yes, even "never leave anyone behind". They'd be the go-to for assassination and other nasty work tho lol
But maybe a different toon would be a better fit for this guild anyway. I just have a character concept I hope to explore in one of my character slot, when open beta hits. It's generally nice to have all my toons in the same guild tho.

I appreciate the interest Surf, really, but we are going to pass. There's a bunch of guilds that are popping up, so I know you'll find a home you'll have fun in!
Tyrs Paladium is always on the lookout for fun, laid back, old school D&D players, who'd value logging on and being greeted by a group of like minded adventurers willing to band with you to fight evil and seek treasure.
Whether you've enjoyed more recent D&D RPG's like Baldur's Gate or Neverwinter Nights, or can take it back to Bard's Tale... or even further back to Zork, you just might find our group of gamers right up your alley.
Camaraderie, community, and family. That's how guildies describe Tyrs Paladium.
Oh indeed Surf, I was just showing some love to those who were introduced to Dungeons & Dragons thru the great D&D based RPGs that have been made over the years.
I'm proud to say we are now 29 guildies strong, not counting many from our DDO branch that has shown an interest in playing Neverwinter. We are PUMPED to begin playing, so if anyone is looking for an established, extremely friendly family of gamers, give us a holla!

I cannot wait to hold our first event honoring US and other friendly nation's veterans, right here in Neverwinter. Until then, if you'd like to join us in Dungeons and Dragons Online (DDO), let me know.
If you need to learn how to roll a toon on the Ghallanda server (no charge at all, its a f2p game), contact me personally or right here in the thread.
WHEN:
The Tyrs Paladium guild's Veterans Day Ceremony is held each year on November 11th on Ghallanda. This year we join US Marines veteran Bekki; the ceremony commences on SUNDAY, November 11th, precisely at 3 PM EST and again at 10:00 PM EST.
WHERE:
We will meet this year on the Ghallanda server, in House Deneith, in the Temple of the Sovereign Host.
Happy Vet's Day to those that help to make this country free!

First off.. As a Veteran about to retire after 24yrs service I would like to thank you for all the thanks in this thread and elsware.
A little about myself.. I am 41 yrs old and about to retire from the US Army on April 1st 2013 after serving in uniform since I joined in 1988, yes I was just 17 yrs old. I have been an avid table top D&D player since 1980 and still have the original little blue book released before the original box set. I prefer AD&D over any edition thus far though I do play 2E with friends from time to time, I refused to even read a 4E rule book as did the rest of my friends so as I play NeverWinter allot seemed different. I am with a group now working on a D&D NEXT campaign which so far seems ok, and definately back to the basics in many ways. I have played MMO's since the release of Ultima Online many years back and have played or taken part in beta's of most fantasy MMO's since. I spent many years playing EQ1, and 2. Was a fan of Dark Age of Camelot though it didnt hold me more than a year, naturally I played WOW but those long bouncy elf ears were just too much of an eye sore. I was an alpha and beta tester of DDO but didnt subscribe after the beta ended because at the time I did not like the combat system. Same happened with Vangaurd, I was in the Alpha and beta but never subscribed after launch. I am a huge fan of the NWN series and ran a persistant server for about 5 years before moving on. I have now set my sights on NeverWinter and am looking forward to dedicating my game time to it and building in the foundry. Currently I am in no guild and would like to find a good group of old people to play with, I am too old and set in my ways to deal with some of the youngsters out there. Looking for some like minded mature players to enjoy my time with in NeverWinter...
As far as my play style, I am a Roll Player first and foremost. I tend to play Druids as a primary and then Rangers and Rogues, Currently in NeverWinter im a Rogue Trickster and am really hopeing the Ranger or Druid eventually show up as classes. My profile name Krycius comes from my original AD&D Druid "Krycius ThunderFury" who ran in a 13 year campaign and lives to this day wandering the lands as a Heirofant of the 23rd circle.
So.. I am intrested in finding out more about your guild and if you think I would fit in with you!

First of all, I'd like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your service. You will be in friendly company here.
I'd also like to thank you for checking out our guild Tyrs Paladium. It sounds like you absolutely should fit in with the community we've assembled thusfar.
We will be organizing all kinds of runs in Tyrs. Even though the game isnt a role playing game in the authentic sense, there are long time pnpers here, myself included. We'll play the game always to have fun, first and foremost. Good old fashioned camaraderie and fun are our two main ingredients, and that can be seen in our web site today, and will be seen throughout the years in game. We make no qualms about that fact we mean it when we say we enforce our guild rules, and many guildies appreciate the community feel that allows.
We also are very careful to make sure that it doesn't feel "like a job" to be in Tyrs. This is a game, and we are a voluntary family of gamers, held together only by the camaraderie that we create.. Real life always comes first, and common decency and respect are all we really ask of one another.
Hope that gives you a better flavor Krycius!
Check out our guild rules, and if they seem fair to you, hit me back here or in private message and we'll get you right into the fold!

Hello Aandre (Comodore)...Thought I would post "something" just to say hello from the other branch on Tyrs. Since I'm not sure they'll let me use my initials as a character name (PMS), I wanted to get a post under my belt using this forum name...

Heh, understandable, but feel free to email PWE and ask maybe they won't block you after all Brother of the Palladium.

Since we hire based on personality and playstyle, evil aligned characters would be kind of difficult to pull off in Tyrs Paladium
However, Im not sure that's even going to be an option in Neverwinter.

Evil-aligned player characters would simply not fit within the scope of Tyrs Paladium, but we wish you the best in your journey!
