Wandering Scarecrow Stat Change

Since yesterday's update patch the Wandering Scarecrow companion stats went from 8k arpen/2k defense down to 4k arpen/2k defense at legendary. First, is this wai ? If so, can we get back the resources we used to upgrade it? Second, why was this not announced in the patch notes?

It makes sense that they ninja nerfed it, since an 8k and a 2k puts it above its peers. Also they will not refund your AD or Tokens just because of the nerf, not to mention keeping it Legendary contributes to the Bolster Bonus for its category anyway if you don't have more than 5 Legendary for that category already.
