Stuck on Undermountain Campaign. Arcturia

She turns the dragon into a chicken and then whoops my butt.

Any tips. I'm a Barbarian and have tried all sorts of combinations of powers but cannot beat her. The damn butterflies drain action points so fast and when i get her out of them her beam kills me before i can get an attack off !!!

Butterflies are NOT your friend. At all.

I've only done that fight on my DC, and could fight from range, so that's the best I can do. Might want to pull out a striker companion to lend a hand, though. Or a healer to keep you fighting.

She killed me a few times, but I got her on the third try. By far the hardest campaign boss for me.

Sorry - I've only run that part with a Ranger Archer so far.

If I had to guess though - focus on using fast animation Encounter powers - do not rely on At-Wills - they take too long to finish their animations. Use stuff like Mighty Leap, Not So Fast and either IBS or Bloodletter. Jump in, power/power and run away in a circle to keep her always having to turn to face you. Jump back in when the encounter cooldowns are done, and rinse/repeat.

And be prepared for a long fight. Might help to have a defender or melee striker companion to help divide her attention.

Also it might not be a bad idea to party up with other players before tackling Undermountain...

Hit the LFG chat window and see if anyone else wants to party up to do Undermountain.

I bet there are a lot of players having a little difficulty trying to solo something that appears to be intentionally designed to be taken on by a party or upper level end game characters (like just about like everything else released after Mod6), especially since a lot of individual player stats have been mitigated and hoard and boss powers seem to have been enhanced.

This is the single hardest fight in the whole of the Undermountain campaign, so yea...if you feel a bit weak, you might want to party up for just that quest.

I would just ask in /zone.

The Undermountain questline and the Master expeditions are perfectly well soloable with decent gear, a good build, and a bit of skill. Everything else that is designed to be soloable is soloable - just as long as you are careful not to outlevel it.

Some group content that could before be soloed by any endgame player may now be too hard for anyone except a very skilled BiS player - and IMO that's exactly how it should be.

I did not have a problem with it on live as a 14k SW hellbringer. I have not finished the full quest yet, but on preview the hardest fight by far is the one before you get to the final dragon boss but they may have tuned her down. I had a 20k SW on preview and she kicked my butt

Well she wiped my HAMSTER last night and the instance (or whatever it is) was bugged. When I resurrected I waited in the campfire to gain HP and mend my wounds (injured) she came attacking and killed me again.....

They did fix that. I couldn't do that on preview, but had to switch to a "broken" companion that did massive damage. When I did it on live it was a piece of cake, Arcturia is the only tough fight.

I took half her life with one Ice Knife daily nuke.. rest was easy
