Well, I agree with you all that getting good gear in a game like this takes lots of time and effort and real money, but there are those who can and have lots of time to be online and learn the game. I do not have that time, but I'm going to make good use of all those good pointers and advice in this thread as I can to get at least my 2 toons up to playable state and have lots of fun doing it.
The only problem I have is that I'm so freaking shy to engage players to group with me lol, it's a huge problem I have. I think that playing alone is ok for a while but to go further and be able to get some good gear and stuff then I realize that I have to be willing to group with other players, otherwise I'll just extend the time it takes to get somewhere.
I can understand being shy. Maybe come up with a personality for your characters and roleplay that. That might help to overcome that. I'm not much of a roleplayer, but it could both add to the fun and let you be free from being shy for a little while because you get to be someone else instead of you. It's a thought, anyway, and I hope I'm making sense and not being insulting.
Another thing that might help is just to remember that other players don't talk much, anyway. LOL. Also, they only really care that you know your characters' strengths and weaknesses well and play to your strengths. Anyway, if I recall correctly, you're on my friends list now. So I'll just be extra vigilant and keep an eye out for you.

Nice work. Great post. And being honest I play 90% solo and just queue for Random Levelling Queue and Random Intermediate Queue - that keeps me happy and contented.
