Stuck at dispatch board - why won't it let me place an order?

All looks good, and I get the ding-ding acceptance bell when I try to place an order at the dispatch board, but regardless of whether I choose one time or repeat, the order does not process. I don't get the system notify message that I have started an order. It doesn't say that the order has been placed, and the retainer is still waiting for me to place my first order. I'm stuck at the tutorial level, because my dispatch board isn't working?

I'm having the same issue. I saw that there was a similar issue when people left the game or workshop during and earlier quest in the chain and they eventually fixed that one. I'm wondering if this one is somehow related. Hopefully someone has a work-around for it.

So far, it seems the developers are not fixing this... Which is so BAD, because anyone affected by this basically cannot use the new professions system at all. Totally stuck. Dead in the water. No progression possible at all.

(It should be highest priority since the effect is so damning for players. But instead, it really seems like this has NO priority or bottom priority for the developers. Nowhere have I read that anyone is working on fixing this or that a resolution is in progress or coming soon.)
