I agree 100% with the OP: the "Player Pack," or whatever it is with the potions, is a ridiculously lousy reward for a key. I don't plan to use keys on the Glorious Resurgence lockboxes until that pack is taken out of the reward matrix! The same goes for the Soulmonger lockboxes, as they also have the same pack as an all-too-frequent "reward." There is no way I'm buying keys if this trend continues in future lockboxes.

Don't open the Adventurer's Packs if you get them.
I'm not looking for forgiveness, and I'm way past asking permission. Earth just lost her best defender, so we're here to fight. And if you want to stand in our way, we'll fight you too.
Im not sure theres really anything worth paying for in Neverwinter - lockbox keys certainly hold no attraction for me. And I am the perfect demographic for someone who IS willing to spend money where its appropriate. I bought 500 zen so I could get an Artifact that was on the AH for 100k AD LESS then it was worth. So I snapped it up.
Whereas the two times I have bought VIP for a month have been mostly a very sad and sorry state of affairs.
With "gambling" of this type, the way to keep people doing it is to at least give them enough rewards per gamble to *think* they are winning.
But if everyone suddenly realizes lockboxes aren't worth it, then the game is in trouble

VIP isn't for the daily key; it's for all the other benefits you get.

I kind of forgot that due to me only getting to VIP2 in two years

VIP is for the daily key first and everything else second. And even at that rate, keys don't return their fair value.
Thats my point - what is mission critical in the VIP ranks - genuine question

Honestly, nothing. It is a matter of convenience is all.

It drives me crazy to play without my one-touch travel, bank, mail, store, and salvage options. Those are pure convenience. No-AH fees is nice, but +10% AD gain and -25% AD costs are the killers for me.
Infinite ID scrolls, infinite dungeon keys, and one Lockbox key a day are gravy.
i know vip isnt about the keys but i would agree that the lock box prizes have got progressively worse. I havnt bought any keys for ages because of this. Getting the adventurer pack or one of the mount packs and getting 2 blue insignia which sell for 200ad each is a slap in the face and it happens time and time again. havnt had anything worthwhile from my daily vip keys in a long long time.
