Randoms and Ignore list

Like many others I see here I am utterly disgusted at the random queue for many many reasons. One of those reasons is abusers, whether due to logging out (without leaving), not assisting, vastly undergeared (you have to try to have a 5k IL or less on a 70) or a speed runner, it affects the others in the dungeon/skirmish negatively and we the player base should have, no, demand a way to limit our exposure to those abusers. I had been under the assumption that once I put an account on my ignore list that I would not be forced to have any interaction with any toon on that account ever again, hence my choice to ignore them.

I have been running daily random skirmishes (I draw the line at running leveling dungeons, it is an insult to me to force me to run them) for the last week or so on my 8 toons. I have been looking to do a few specific things in the game that cost more AD then I can make in a relative realisticly short amount of time so I decided to do the skirmishes.

I very quickly became newly disgusted at the plethora of circumstances that abusers are allowed to wreak havoc on the player base and started checking IL at the start of skirmishes. I should clearify that there is 1 skirmish I do this for mainly (throne). I refuse to run that p.o.s. skirmish p.o.m. but would do the same for that one if I ran it. I found at least 25% of the time level 70 players having a 5k IL or less. I even saw a player with less than a 1k IL at level 70 running randoms. While the skirmishes aren't difficult (that's another part of our disgust at the queue system) the FACT that a player with a 5k IL or less does so little that they effectively aren't there.

Now to my point as the title refers to. I put those abusers on my ignore list with the belief that once they were on my ignore list that I would not be subjected to their abuse ever again. That included my understanding that I would not be forced to run anything with them again. Once again Cryptic failed us, the player base, in that even being on your ignore list you are forced to run with toons from those accounts in the random queue. Cryptic, in their desire to implement this disaster (the queue system) has given abusers another way to negatively impact the player base.

I'm sure there are going to be those that respond by telling me to form my own party and to you I say this, the only way to affect change is to challenge the status quo. I see many people here and talk to many people in the game that are all of the same mindset. We despise the queue system AS IT IS.

Let Cryptic see our disgust at their work and as the people that keep Cryptic in business let's demand better of them. Make positive changes to the queue system that the majority of the player base wants/needs/demands.

Once I put an account on ignore I should NEVER have to be forced to have ANY interaction with them ever again. That includes not being forced to run randoms with them at all.

Couldn't agree more. You'd think Cryptic would want to implement this based on harassment exposure alone. I have never played another online game where this was allowed to happen.

Only thing ignore does is make it so you do not see any chat messages from them. They cannot message you, should not be able to invite you.

I am usally faster than the other players I am grouped with in random dungons I kill almost every mob in in the dungon. but i also run back and help the low lvl people I get grouped with by healing , buffing, and showing them the way. i dislike spped runners who run to the end of the dungon but only kill boss mobs leaving the low lvl toons to get slaughtered by the mass.

I am a speed runner, and doing randoms on 8 toons daily i don't like the drag the process out, i want the dungeons to be as efficient as possible. if your low il and don't keep up or want to explore i will vote to kick you, these dungeons are easy enough to que private and take all the time you want to go see the cool little easter eggs the dev's put in (only the old dungeons have these, all the new stuff is just a straight smash and dash). this is a mmo yes, but part of being in a mmo is to adapt to your surroundings in a positive manner not make the process a negative one, and as a player i think making people wait on you because you want to explore easy content or you went afk and now cant reach us at the end is on you, if your queing for random, be ready for random or don't que simple as that.

Consider the possibility that, while you queued random, they queued for the content that they wanted/needed to run and the random queue dropped you into that instance to fill out the party.

And the primary reason is to get the queues to pop faster.

Must we turn every thread into an argument about the RA Speed Runners vs the lower level players? Don't we have enough of these threads that we can't allow one to have a different subject?

To take this back on topic: I agree that it would be nice if the ignore function also made it so you would not have to be in an RQ with that person. My only concern is this; As your ignore list grows then your time to wait for an RQ will also grow as it would only take one person to block you from being in the RQ with them.

I'm not going to get into another discussion about speed runners and player behavior -vs- "It's cryptic's fault", as dafrca said, that topic has been beat to death already... but there is a simple solution for player seriously not wanting to be thrown into a dungeon with someone they've previously run with and don't care to run with again...

You see it all the time on Zone and Looking For Group chat, some one posts: LFG – TIA, TONG, FBI, ETOS, etc….

One could post [LFG] “Random Dungeon - speed runners need not apply”...

Of course it will take longer to get into a dungeon (which is why more people don't do it) and there is no guarantee a speed runner won’t try to join the queue anyway just out of spite, but it is something to consider if you’re serious about not running with certain people you consider to be abusive since it is your choice whom to include and exclude from your queue group.
