Looking for mature (older) players interested in acting as officers to create new guild.

I get it. Isn’t it much easier to join an established guild with a ton of existing boons? Yes. Of course it is. I, however, have always been a glutton for punishment.

I’m an older gamer with experience going back to the earliest mmorpgs. Over the years I’ve run social, pvp, and pve guilds including wow raid guilds. My last guild had 400 members across the globe split into 20 sub groups focused on time zones. I created it, advertised, and tried hard to identify natural leaders in each of the groups. I made a serious effort to play with people from each of those groups and my Xbox party was always an open door policy.

400 was too many. Some groups succeeded but others failed because I just didn’t have enough time to identify and cultivate 20+ leaders. I did, however, learn quite a bit and hope to put those lessons to use as I once again look to lead a guild.

I go through cycles. There are periods where I’m new to a game and prefer solo play. No obligations, no drama. Inevitably, I find myself interested in socializing with other players. I also get to a point where tougher content interests me and PUGs are simply too painful. Friends bring rewards in many forms and good guilds foster friendships.

So here I am. Back in the game after a very long break. I joined a guild and tried to encourage a dragon flight and was met with a litany of reasons why it was difficult to schedule and warnings I shouldn’t step on toes.

So here I am. Again. Hehe. Let’s do this.

Me: Not hardcore. Love the look of best in slot but actually far too casual to let that consume me. I am working to improve my toons (I have 15 total, five at 70). I’m a hands on leader tired of solo play and looking for laid back adults interested in coming in at the ground floor and building something. There are many ways to enjoy the game and spend your time/resources. Building up a guild is one I find appealing.

You: Mature. You have a microphone and you’re not afraid to use it. You’re interested in helping to build something and prepared to help as time permits. You’re willing to run dailies and would look to include guildies when possible. Leading people usually means you sometimes sacrifice your own desires for the benefit of those you lead. You understand that and you’re happy to make those compromises, within reason. You’re tired of solo play and looking for a friendly environment where people don’t take themselves too seriously but they’re routinely playing together.

I’m CadaverTaffy on Xbox. Stop by and say hi. Assuming I can find 4 interested people, let’s get started.
