winter festival simril event questions

Helloo the winter event is on the calandar and have few questions about it...

The legendary fishing pole, is this an upgraded fishing rod that can also be used in somi / chult aka can we ditch the old purple rod or do we have to cart them both round?

Can you get the artefact "forge hammer of gond" or is that a different event?

Barring any changes from past events.

The fishing pole is crafted during the event and is not used for any fishing except during the event. It will stay in your useful items tab and be there next year.

Forgehammer is one of the possible drops from the gift giving side events, but it is from a different event called Wonders of Gond. Starlight parcels (this is the item you need) and gifts of simril are the gift side events.

It is a very rare drop, but possible as one of the tiers of the loot tables is for items from any event during the year. When you hit that threshold, items from Wonders of Gond and every other special event during the year get added to the loot table. If you are lucky enough to get one, it will be green quality, not the purple from the Gond event.

But if you do luck in and get a Forgehammer, or even better, TWO Forgehammers, they sell for very nice prices....provided they don't BtA/BtC to really show the game's hatred for us! :')
