Equiping companions

wade8765wade8765 Member Posts: 86 Arc User
I just realised that I should have bought 4 additional companions to place in the active slots because my main character gets there bonuses is what I'm believing. I'm level 62 and now I have 5 companions and the ones I bought were cheapo's at 2 gold each so nothing special but better than nothing. Better late than never!

So what I want to know is, should I equip my companions in such a way that each stat gets some points and none are left on zero? For example I have bought some expensive level 70 epic items I have equipped on my companion with level 7 rune stones and level 7 enchantments. So now my Apprentice healer has these stats:

Life Steal 451
Regen 453
Deflect 140
Defence 190
Recovery 618
Armor Pen 311
Critical strike 230
Power 599

So is it important that all the stats have a value above zero? Or could I have left some of those stats on zero without affecting my healer? I just figured make sure they have something of everything.

Also which stats are the most important ones for a apprentice healer? I was more interested in making sure that every stat is above zero rather than focus on stat importance order .

Your help will be most appreciated

Thanks

Save your resources to upgrade your character at lvl 70. Companion and their equipment don't make much difference unless they are purple or orange and you have bonding

I am not sure if you aware of bonding runes, in case you are not, generally what people want out of their companions is the stats to be transferred to them. How this works is that every time your companion uses an ability it can trigger "companions gift" which gives you the stats of the companion, the higher level and more bonding runestones (max 3 obviously) the more stats you can get out of your companion. But as the post above me has already said, the stats of most companions are not that important if you don't have bondings, that does not mean you have to get bonding right away, when you hit level 70 you will have a whole bunch of campaigns to do, some easier than others, you will not need to have bondings, and if you don't then stats like Armor Pen don't help a healer companion because you want him for heals and not damage I would assume.

Since bondings are normally expensive runestones what you can buy instead are eldritch runestones, these give you a percentage of your companions stats (which unlike bondings require no trigger to give you those stats). These runestones are much cheaper than bondings because they give you much lower stats than bondings, a level 8 eldritch gives you 9% of your companions and it costs around 5k AD. If you get these then it is better to focus on one or a few stats instead of spreading them out to every stat possible, I would say go for power mostly, this should be what you will mostly want to get to level 70 and doing the easier campaigns, and since power effects healing you would want that stat specifically for your healer companion.

I would check the guides/builds that are in the class section for whatever class you are playing. Companions, bondings, and companion gear have a very big impact on your performance.
