[PS4] Combustive Action/AP Gain buff CW (Help PC players, please)

metalicum1metalicum1 Member Posts: 200 Arc User
Has anyone tried to build an AP gain CW which would spam Dailies and procing Combustive Action constantly? Is it worth it?
What does Combustive Action actually do? It says that it debuffs the target so that it takes more Fire damage. Sharps' guide says that the debuff is not only for Fire dmg, but for all dmg. Is that right. Wouldn't it be great then, to build a CW which is able to keep up both Swath and Combustive, those passives alone should make the difference right?

So how come NOBODY (on ps4) plays that. It seems so good, MoF AP gain Renegade build, but nobody plays that. So what's the problem? Or does it just look good on paper, and in reality it's not great? If so, why?

btw mow much recovery and AP gain stat it would require to able to just spam Dailies?
(keep in mind - no Snail on PS4)

It does work, I play that build on PC. OF for daily power since it extends the duration of combustive by 5 seconds.

That's part of the build I made for my cw and it does wonders. Been using that for a year now. 98%-116% ap gain 140%-165% recharge speed . Needless to say when you have DC with HL or OP with wisdom you cast like maniac.

Glad to hear that! How much recovery and AP it really needs to shine?
How's that Oppressive Force increase the duration of the buff?

Tbh, it doesn't need any at all, if you using OF to proc combustive. Every time OF ticks, it refreshes combustive and this leads to a duration of 9 seconds. With my dps setup on my CW instead of support, I can cast OF once every ~11 seconds. This is without even taking the feat for combustive. With the feat, you have 100% uptime.

With that being said, if you DO want to stack recharge speed increase, you could use 3x heart of the dragon, the griffon mount bonus that reduces CDs and then use shepherd's devotion+artificer's persuasion.

I'm on PS4 and I've been a MoF Ren for months lol. I run with guildies mainly because I find a majority of people don't understand the build. Also, many people have looked at my score for paingiver and told me my DPS is too low. Little do they know what I bring to them. So be prepared for that.

I've really been enjoying the build! Despite the comments i've received about my paingiver score, I have also shown many people what a difference a MoF Ren makes. Many people have told me what a difference they see when I'm in their group. I say go for the build because I'm loving it :)

i want to add that there is no debuff on the player when cast an opressive force or any aoe daily. IF you cast opressive force without a target the icon do not appear to negative bar. IT only appears when you actually debuff your enemy and it just show how many sec remain.

sheperd devotion is fixed a long time ago Whenever you use a Daily power, your teammates Defense, Deflection, and Movement are increased by 5% of your Power for 10 seconds.

Am I correct in assuming you dps setup is Thaum with a splash of Opp? What class features do you use?

No, I am Renegade with Spell Twisting. I use combustive action and swathe of destruction.

I just rolled a Nerd and was unsure which build to try, but this sounds like a lot of fun. I have no idea what any of those acronyms mean, but damn it I'm going to learn! Maybe.

I'm working on my newbie master of flame, and it is AWESOME. I can actually top scoreboards now if I try! I have a question though, is there a particular ice spell that vets like to use for chill stacking? Icy Terrain sounds promising, but is it? Also, I've been wondering if Ray of Enfeeblement is worth investing in. A veteran opinion would be much appreciated.

E: Just found the Sharpedge guide, my questions have been answered statistically, but I would still appreciate some info on practical application.

Icy Terrain, and Conduit of Ice (on Tab) are your chill stacking encounters. Both are very good and used pretty much all the time. Icy Terrain is the only Encounter that can freeze targets too.

Ray of Enfeeblement is a go to encounter in single target fights. It adds a 17.5% (iirc) debuff on target thereby benefitting all allies by that amount. The debuff is capped to 200% though.

Thanks for this, I appreciate it. I ended up investing in both Icy Terrain and RoE, and while I can't eyeball the debuff effectiveness I try to keep it up as often as I can. No complaints so far, so I guess I'm doing something right!
