can you double transmute?

My question is if i buy say the hood of fate and transmute my current dragonflight helmet (I'm a GWF) with it, can I then use my transmuted dragonflight helmet to make another helmet look like the hood of fate??

Yes, the current look or transmute is the one that is passed on if you transmute with it again.
