PUG...The most terrifying thing yet absolutely hysterical

mrmakeithappen#7220 mrmakeithappen Member Posts: 41 Arc User
Seriously Pug are a good idea but work about as well as bringing a defender companion to the blue stronghold dragon. I won't even touch them with dungeons because one time I was put in shores of tuern with 4 gwf and 1 CW. My favorite though has to be demo. Ran mdemo with some people from my alliance. We had 6 people, a tank, a cleric, and 4 dps. Figured we would be okay to pickup the rest from the que. It was an absolutely God awful run lol. I don't know if it was lagging, frame rate, or somebody was playing with dial up but the game was bugging out on me. I died like 5 in 2 sec but was never sent back to the campfire. I had the you died screen but I was still fighting and running to the sanity well, I was like WHAT????? I have soulforged and I know as a gwf I didn't invest in wisdom but is he that stupid that when he gets killed her forgets to die? Someone also ran into the black portals twice. I saw in the chat box the tank was like ummmm what exactly is going on here? I could only snicker and giggle uncontrollably at this situation. Another time before I joined my guild I did a que for demo by myself. Let me tell you someone made it their life mission to open up every damn portal. The group was fine after the first 2 purple then all hell broke loose. There was so many adds I didn't if I was playing dynasty warriors or if someone was recreating the scene from the matrix when Neo fought multiple agent smith's. People were obviously going HAM in the chat box. My favorite was one person who typed "OMG what the HAMSTER is going on??? All these adds is making my OCD kick in. I'm having a panic attack." I absolutely lost my HAMSTER when I saw that. I was at home laughing for about half hour straight.

PUG gotta love em

We Pug malabogs all the time just for the entertainment value. Each time we bet on which random will open the mimic and then when we get to malabog and they start dying we always bet on if they will run into the adventuring group to get back to us.

Okay so legitimately we are doing malabogs to farm the artifact for all of our tanks - but the adding in randoms makes that dungeon so much more entertaining. JT and I were dying laughing in one the other night when he asks "which one on the mimic? I got my bet on the CW" and I replied "I think this crew is going to fight for it" and sure enough we get in there and the three of them go running like mad to the mimic to be the first to open it. It killed them all. We killed it. The two of us proceed to malabog and right as we are entering we get the cut scene for the adventuring group. It was FANTASTIC.

Valindra's is also good for that, go through the portal after the two gelatinous cube things quickly and see if anyone grabs the chest, they either have to kite the mimic away and race back or try to kill it without dying as you can't go back and help them and they can't leave while in combat.

well atleast there are groups that don't just kick if they are not good enough (im new lvl 70 ilvl 1835) i do my fair share when i can and yes i die too. so what ....thats my problem as most people in these runs are rediculously geared anyway and can manage with only 3 i've been in a group that managed mala and vel with 2 from mid fight....... what im trying to say you may laugh and find it funny but not everyone is willing to pay for everything and not been playing since day dot, so let them try...give them a chance as they have to learn just like you did.

Honey, we all die. It's a game and it's okay to die in it. We die a LOT and that's because we keep trying to get better. We aren't ridiculously geared out - we actually are able to complete a lot of things we should be able to complete because we run as a team.

We help the randoms out all that we can - I'll pick them up, hand them gear if they seem nice enough, and we have infinite patience with helping the nice ones who are trying. They can't hear us since we are in a private chat, and we will even stand around the door to go back in and rescue them if they do open it. (that first chomp from a mimic can hit like a mac truck).

I personally think betting on who will open the mimic is much nicer than the people who go and open the mimic so that it eats the randoms. We had a super geared out guy trying to kill all of the new players in the group. There were two of us, him, and two very low IL's. He was infuriating me because he was clearly trying to kill them.

We made sure he topped the chart in deaths and just kept encouraging the two new people to stick it out.

that's my point exactly, we are all new at some point and all have to learn and a lot are not given that chance...no matter how many times you watch a video on youtube about a fight or read every possible tactic you will make a mistake sooner or later new or old players, but its people like yourself i appreciate as you give people a chance at least, i like to learn on the go as sitting and reading tons of fights or watching them beforehand makes things less and less interesting and makes the game boring so much faster.

also i know more then half of the players who act pro have bought there way up, bought accounts, AD and so on so yeah...they make me laugh.

i myself was doing a few pvp games and can deffinately hold my own and was in the top 3 (we won too) a few and i suddenly got a message through ps4 asking me to buy AD for real money basicly advertising saying along the lines of, are you sick of being a noob sick of having rubbish gear why not buy AD from us starting at 10 euro lol....

Yeah, if you want to spend money that's on you - but it won't make you any good at the game. We love helping people out - actually our alliance is putting together it's first "help night" where dungeon vets take the new 70's through dungeons and help them understand the mechanics and get their first completions. This is our first time actually setting up a time and date in the alliance for that.

Normally in our guild we just grab people who are 70 and say "hey you wanna do a dungeon" and they say "I've never made it through" then we say - "you're about to - we may all die a few times, but we got this"

It still doesn't take away from the ridiculousness of PUGs though - OMG sometimes I just run them for the crazy.

the best two pugs ever were back to back:
1st - ran a malabogs with a pally that was using transmutes for weapons. For the whole dungeon we were trying to figure out what was wrong with her character and finally after killing the dragon we realized she hadn't transmuted her weapons - she was actually wielding transmutes. We elected to message her to let her know.

Then we went into an eLoL and had a GWF that was doing no damage. My healadin was beating his damage and we were all baffled. Then we get to the dragon and inspect him - he had no sword equipped. NO WEAPON! We messaged him asking if he needed to borrow a sword and he instantly equipped one and we proceeded to destroy the dragon.

    Good Times

no sword... that's a new one lol

any chance your guild is taking new members as i'm guild less right now, whenever i was online in the previous guild there was no more then 1 other online at ANY time (granted he was very helpful).

anyways about me = most of the time i do my own thing questing (dailies) and such, pugs pvp/pve but sometimes its nice to have people on hand help full ones, i'll do for example icewind dale area (icewind pass) solo which can be deathly lol and die a few times trying every way i can before i ask for help, my only character is a HR iLVL 1835, been focusing on boons at the moment and im a none paying player (i much prefer to not rush and to experience the game rather than skipping tons of stuff).

Yeah the no sword had us dying laughing - we were like "what is he doing, slapping them?"

Sure I'm pretty sure we have a few spots left - message me your in-game name and psn and when I get home I can send you an invite - unless JT is on, then I can message him and have him send you an invite.

I run a healadin and can pretty much make any group get through the t1 dungeons as long as the tank doesn't get 1 shotted. I felt bad on my MoF renegade cw today taking top dps against 2500 gwf. My debuff cw is only 2600 and normally does less dps then tanks.

That is the easiest dungeon. I pugged that quiet a bit when I was only on NW and had no issues for the most part. But I of course play Tank and Healer so it probably helps. I still like it when I tanked and waited for the healer as the DPS ran into the thick of adds and died. After 2-3 times of doing that I would put into text chat, wait for the support roles. LOL....
