How do I leave an alliance?

I am trying to get my guild out of a dead alliance, and find a more active one but when I click leave all it says is pending and only one vote to leave. How may votes to leave do I need? Who can vote to leave?

All rank 7's must vote. That includes all alts, every character that is rank 7 in the guild must vote to leave.

So If I demote my friend who used to co lead but has quit and only my alts all vote it would still work?

Demote all other rank 7's (including your alts) then leave; only 1 vote needed then. Other option is to login on all chars and click "leave". Sidenote: if you are Helm and going to get someone else as Helm in your Guild's place, before leaving make sure to uncheck the setting that says "auto decline alliance invitations". I failed to do this when i moved Denial out of our Helm spot, so we could move our Alliance Guild "Nocturnal" to helm for their rotation, and ended up needing to invite one of our Alliance Guild Leader's side rank 2 Guild just so i could uncheck that darn button. Ya, that was entertaining .
