Do you get one rimfire golem per account? Or can you get multiple? Say one for each char.?

Multiple. Pretty much how it works for everything RNG long as you get lucky.

I actually just bought them all this time around picked up three at the auction house that were buy outs for about 25K....then while running the event for battle medals for the enchantment box (as well as some easy AD) I got another one by way of drop.

Later last night running it again for AD on my main, ran into a guy who was having a heck of a time with his Drop Luck so I gave him one, lol.

Made a new friend & that's more than worth some AD

Not even worth grinding. Once the Runic lockbox hits because they drop at epic from the lockbox. On PC this resulted in uncommon rimefire going for 13k and epic for 100-150k. And that's with a 10 million Zen backlog on the zax.
