That means that as you earn Rough Astral Diamonds by doing dungeons, skirmishes, salvaging or whatever, you will earn extra at a rate of 50% up to a maximum of 500 AD. If you salvage a guild ring for 1000 RAD, you receive the bonus of 500. 500 being 50% of 1000. If you salvage something worth more, you still only receive 500 as your bonus is used up at that point. If you run a Maze Engine quest thay grants 400 RAD, you will receive 200 extra and your remaining bonus will be reduced to 300.

Thank you for explaining that to me. I am very new to Neverwinter and MMORPG's in general, having only played Guild Wars 2 for a couple months before coming to Neverwinter. Looks like I need to learn how to salvage.
You can by invoking over many days increase the bonus pool up to a maximum of 100K AD. Anytime you receive rough AD, you will get up to a maximum bonus of 50%. As long as your bonus pool has enough AD in it (mouse over the AD icon near your portrait), you will get the full 50% or as much as is left in your pool (if <50%).
For example if you salvage an epic ring for 6K AD, you get +3K AD if your bonus pool >= 3K AD. So if you had 10K AD in your bonus pool, you would get a bonus of 3K AD and your bonus pool would be reduced to 7K. However, if you had 1K AD in your bonus pool, you would get a bonus of 1K AD and your bonus pool would be reduced to zero.

It is from a single, probably first, invoke of the day.
I'm not looking for forgiveness, and I'm way past asking permission. Earth just lost her best defender, so we're here to fight. And if you want to stand in our way, we'll fight you too.
IIRC there is a quest at level 70 to show you. Regardless, all you have to do is take a salvageable item and stand near a salvage vendor or anvil, open up your inventory and right click in the item and select 'salvage.' Salvageable items will say so in the description, near where it says 'Neck' or 'Arms' etc... The main place to salvage items is in the Seven Suns Coster Market on the side nearest the city gate, look for the guy in the wizard hat. Talk to him for more info. There are some other places, but that one is accessible to everyone.

Then reread the OP, which specified a pool of 500.
