About vip and non vip accounts

My question is this...and its just a question. Does arc or perfect world or cryptic, favor the people who pay money to buy their vip accounts over the non paying vip players or non vip players? Why i ask is because i am a non paying vip member i bought my vip with astral diamonds and ive noticed during events and the everyday vip key to unlock the dropboxes that the people who pay are getting great items like the good mounts, and good items to get their characters built up better etc. While the non paying vip like myself gets the same thing almost everyday. Anyways im not complaining im just asking a simple question to see where i lie and what to exspect. Thanks for listening.

Well, hard to answer definitively, but as someone who's bought way too much zen with $ (for 7 months VIP, I think 5 dusk boot + 20 key sets, and much more), I can assure you that in my personal case "the people who pay are getting great items like the good mounts, and good items to get their characters built up better etc" is not true.

Seems like it would be a petty thing to do. Even if you buy VIP using AD to buy Zen, you're still providing a service by servicing the Zen buyers who want to trade for AD. Highly doubt its the case.

I'm getting same stuff all the time too. Opened 15 boxes so far... Nothing useful. Very disappointed with VIP thus far.

I've had VIP for about 10 months and I've never had an epic or legendary anything. That's not to say I've had nothing useful, I've had lots of greater marks, purple profession items (I rarely need to buy them now) and one or two green artifacts.

The useful things from VIP are the signpost, mailbox and banking portal. Finding your bags full when you're in the middle of nowhere (or a dungeon) and being able to either bank or mail them to yourself is worth the AD to buy VIP.

I myself am a non paying VIP, just have a lotta free time. And in my honest opinion, I believe it's like a "hitting the lottery" type thing, on an average day there is about 20 to 50 (I would imagine) admin notifications about someone receiving the Legendary Armored Griffin pack. Many that I have seen have been in English (duh lol) German, Italian, Russian, etc. I was actually beginning to wonder myself, after about a week or so of being a VIP, and even saving up a few keys I got the same professions pack, or another rare but not epic loot. Bummer. However, I hold out hope, I'm currently working on getting higher VIP, Im rank 2 right now, (I want that summon bank tho!) And maybe this also increases the odds for an epic or higher unboxing. But basically from what I've gathered, its a simple roll of the dice.

I bought myself up to level 5 VIP. 1 month with $$ and then the other 4 with zen I traded AD for. I consider the VIP worth it for the group stat buff and the freaking signpost has been a lifesaver (not have to run all the way back from that demon summoning in ice spire peak). I will eventually go up to the 12 month, a few months at a time. I tend to get profession packs over and over from the keys.

I look at the keys as a daily scratchoff ticket - you don't actually expect to win but there is always that chance you will get something nice. I'd love to get the artifact weapons for my Pally. But the odds of that happening are pretty low.

Shouldn't know really. The way you buy with AD is to buy Zen from someone who's selling Zen meaning they typically buy the Zen with cash. Zen that you bought your VIP with was bought with money at some point. I wouldn't imagine that they'd track a stat that is utterly useless, just to make sure VIP is useless for people who farm for it. I pulled an Armored Griffin 3 weeks ago. Most of what I get is not really worth much or even that useful, but it is free resources can't really complain about that.

You know, Cryptic gets paid the same no matter how you purchase VIP. That Zen had to come into the system by players buying it directly. Its already been bought and paid for. So Cryptic isnt losing a dime if that Zen is then traded to another player. So why should they care, and then implement a different RNG set, for players choosing to trade for already paid for Zen?

I have spent a lot of money on this game and still get crap. I bought the dragon born pack last weekend. $100 of zen this weekend. Plus the zen I'd already purchased before and I'm VIP rank 7 and haven't gotten anything legendary and only gotten two or three epics. I've opened well over 300 lockboxes and it's always shit. I don't thinking spending real money helps the RNG at all.

The biggest benefit is that I'm the most popular person in the guild because I can summon mailboxes anywhere, they can invoke in my presence anywhere, I can summon a salvage anvil, and over course the traveling sign post. Makes it easy to find people to want to run with you

I don't know how many boxes I have opened but what I always get is crap.

I dropped quite a bit down into this game. Week 1 bought all packs: Dragonborn, Champion of the North, Early Access, Heirloom, and the companion.

I also bought 6 months membership. I have also bought companions ($50+ right there). I have also bought the stones to make weapon and armor enchantment (did it on my main to get his gear), and keys...

The game has now been out for about 10 week. I spend about $25 a week on keys or over $250 now. I also dropped $300 down on the packs, $50 for my membership and another $50 just for companions.

I am going to also buy the Fey pack as well when that comes out.

I'm paying for stuff but I don't see anything drop for me. I have yet to see an Epic Weapon pack. Yet I know players who get those left and right. A guild mate screen shared with me with him opening his chest and he got 3 Epic Weapon packs with 20 keys. He already has gotten that pack now 7 times total and he has opened less LB than I have.

Another guild mate has gotten the Epic Weapon pack, Legendary Mount (first lockbox), got the weapon and armor enchantments, etc...

My luck is pure zero with this game; whereas others are simply lucky and getting lucky left and right.

I don't mind paying as it keeps the game alive and I like the game. But I may stop my 20 keys weekly purchase and only buy packs and membership as needed.

I buy VIP with real money and I don't get jack, I've found though that using the daily key to open a chest on my low level character seems to produce better loot, so as of this time I feel that Arc favours the new players by showering them with better lockbox items to get them hooked.

I've opened lockboxes with all my characters. Some very low level and no improvement on items received. I have yet to get anything amazing from the RNG but I keep trying.

The only thing I've noticed is there appears to be a better chance on your first purchase of keys. I've known 3 people to get mounts on their first 10 keys but nothing after that...

Nope, I have 4 months of vip and have spent at least £50 and not had a single event item or legendary item drop

I'm in the same position as several of the people above. Picked up a lot of packs, North, Dragonborn, companions, keys, VIP etc. and had nothing Legendary pop out ever. Usually get the Profession packs. Think I've twice had the Taramalune Trade Bar jackpot and grabbed over 100 bars each time (only to realise the artifacts are 2400 bars... wtf! ).

I'm actually thinking there's more chance of winning the lottery than grabbing a legendary mount right now!

Tarmalune trade bar jackpot is decent. On a 2x AD weekend, you can use them to buy legacy equipment that is salvageable. Works out at around 1000 AD for each trade bar

Tried the new character theory - I opened my box on my 70 and got the professions pack. Told my BF to open his on a lowbie and he pulled an artifact (kessels sphere). We are going to keep trying that to see if it ups our chance of getting a better drop.

Doesn't work..I find time of day makes a difference more than anything at all. The later in the day, when more people are opening LB, the greater the chance you have a better items. I open my first thing in the morning and get mostly profession packs. Yesterday I got my first Artifact Belt, one I already bought for my tank, that surprised me and I opened that box up well after work.

I am a paying member for VIP. Purchased now 6 months total. I drop enough to buy 20 keys a week, bought all packs that provide any new character a better and fluid experience for leveling.

What I get out of the LB is HAMSTER. Every day it is a profession pack. Literally. That is the lone thing I see. Out of 7 days I see it about 6x and I usually get 1 blue and the rest green professional items.

As for events. I ran the one for the shadow wolf 3 days straight over 500 hundred matches and I got 1 out of it. As for the Beholder event, I am closing in now on 2K runs though it without seeing it. However, I have now seen over 100 people in my group get it.

As far as I am concerned paying or not it does not determine your luck for RNG.

I watch message and LFG and one player has gotten the Beholder now 3x if not more and has sold at least 2 of them. He has ran it half as much as I have and is clearly a lot more luckier than I am.

It is 100% random. You learn to live with it or you quit.
