Solo Que Event

So personally I think the solo que for domination is a big improvement, but some problems still remain. I do notice a lot of different players in pvp, obviously some are coming back to give pvp a try. The matches in the solo que are better matched most of the time and I find that wins in pvp are pretty 50/50 now which is nice, playing 15 pvp matches to get a win could be frustrating.

I still think there needs to be some tier system still. Although I have had more wins, it is mainly due to a single BIS player on my team be able to demolish the other team by himself. If I lose the match, it's the normally the same thing but for the other team, at the end of the match someone has 20-0 either on my team or theirs. Now I like winning because of the rewards, but I prefer to play than be carried by a single player. For me the best matches are where both sides have non BIS players, or each team has one none BIS player and they go at it while the rest play.

The difference in GS is far to wide, I'm a 3k tr. I am often in matches even in solo que where I am the highest gs, yet someone of the other team is 4.2k. I think myself pretty good in pvp with my rouge, I don't have BIS gear at all, nothing even legendary and old purple weapons. I chose the scoundrel path, I have no points in SE, 2 points in daggers which I never use, and stealth I only see at the beginning of pvp. I prefer the brawling fights, chasing people around in stealth hoping to land a one shot SE or just sit in stealth and throw daggers is no fun for me. Yet, I have no issues with fighting people 3.5k even 3.7k, I was 1v1ing a gf at 3.7k and I won both times with only half my health gone, it was a fun fight, I had to dodge and play my butt off but it was fun and both fights long, but even the little damage I could do was enough to eventually kill him, the fight hope. It seems to me, higher than 3.7k, it doesn't matter how good I play, I have fought players and landed literally hundreds of hits and do no damage, I can dodge and roll and deflect all I want, one hit from them and I'm a goner. So from a logical point, if I can do no damage to let's say GWF or SW at 4k, then even if there were 5 of me, we couldn't compete with just one of them, since technically to my gs, they are immortal and can strike me down like Moses at will.

I have spent a little real money in this game, and I have played since beta. I have everything but the new boons, I do all the content, pvp while I'm adventuring, brought the VIP for a year which I must say is a good deal for NW. I brought a mount and some companions, a few keys. I play about an hour to 2 hours throughout the day. I'll never see above 3.5k, I don't know how much you have to play or farm to get there but it would have to be 10+ hours a day which is more than I'm willing, and the money I did spend towards progressing my GS, which wasn't really anything significant, but enough to realize to make any major jumps in GS it was going to be $$$$$$. I have money, that's not the problem, it just seems like a large investment just to gain the some immortal status to continually compete in PVP on a skill level. I haven't done in depth analysis of the exact difference in GS before fighting is futile, but it should be easy for cryptic to come up with a tier system. A hard fight is good to build skill, any impossible fight doesn't nothing, so the ranges should take this into account, maybe split the tiers by 500GS and make it so what ever you que with, gear wise can't be changed until after the match or unless you leave the que. Someone just hitting a new tier will still have challenging fights against people with a 500GS difference to build some skill and give the top of the tier a little superiority as a incentive to spend money and play. There are enough players I think with varying GS scores to fill the different tiers, plus I'm sure a lot more people would PVP if they were sure they weren't going to be put up against someone that is immortal.

On a side note. I would assume the idea of the Solo Que was to bring back players to PVP and let the BIS players fight amongst themselves, how else are they going to test out their gear and builds they spent so much time and money on, you can't get anything from killing players that can do you no harm. BIS players solo queing is no going to help the efforts to regrow PVP, even if you win but were killed 20 times by the someone on the opposing team that you can't hurt because one other BIS player is on my team still isn't really a win. Most of the time I'm just cannon fodder or a distraction for the other players on my team to actually play and have fun. So you got new people thinking PVP is all fixed, they might enjoy the more frequent wins, but they aren't going to not realize they are pretty useless, and all the work you put into your toon can still technically be useless in PVP. Like I said, play everyday, I do all the missions, guild missions and all, 3 years, 3k. A tiered system I think would bring life back to pvp and leave it skill based at any GS.

My 3k GS might make it seem like I'm not in a position to comment on PVP and BIS gear and all. But even at 3k, I have 3.8k tenacity, 62.3% deflect, %25 DR, I always take the steadfast and foe hammer potions in pvp to try and make up some difference, so in PVP, I have 63.3% deflect (85.2% severity), 25.7% dr, 47% stamina recharge and 16.6% movement, 13k power, plus feats in the scoundrel path for more damage reduction, after stealth I get 10% more deflect so I can max at 75% and if some boons kick in I can have up to 83% deflect and 85% severity. I am tanky enough and mobile enough to make a decent fight even with BIS players, the problem is I can't hurt them at all, so zero chance to win, no matter how good I am and how bad they are.

It could even be seen as a money maker for Cryptic. There are probably other builds BIS players would try out if they had a reason, if they find evenly match fights are boring or get old, they might elect to invest in new gear and different builds just to through the different tiers of pvp again with new gear, or have gear sets of different GS's so they can compete in any tier they want. I think it would be a win for everyone. But even the solo que is better than the what the normal system is, at least I have a had a few matches of evenly match groups and the matches were fun and close, what pvp should be.
