[PS4] PvP gear noob question

Does the pvp gear work well in pve or do I need two separate sets like I'm DCUO?

    Gear you'd think would work similar; maybe not artifacts though because I would almost swear I saw something flagged as being different for it (?) * I picked the artifact that grants health & regen for my 1st one out of the initial three....yeah, everyone's running lateen for critical hits but that's not my style, lol.

    Abilities I am almost certain are different though, maybe feats too.

    I'm new to both this game & MMO's though so take anything I say with a grain of salt. I'm sure someone in the actual know will drop by soon with an actual answer.

    Yeah, pvp gear is defensive, pve gear is offensive (for DPS classes).
