Get cozy w/ switching between Ranged and Melee stances (once you unlock the latter). Trapper depends pretty heavily on using both stances regularly. Also make sure ur gear is relatively up to date as you level.

It takes some practice, but thankfully the stance-swapping mechanic for HRs is quite good in NW overall: fast and responsive, and can be done even when in the middle of other animations w/o interrupting them. Just get a feel for dodging around a bit, weaving between the stances, and the way all ur chosen encounters work between both stances. Trappers usually have a 'rhythm' to them that ya just gotta practice till it becomes more familiar. Also, as a Trapper you typically want to favor using at least 1-2 encounters that say they put up either strong or weak Grasping Roots, since those interact w/ many of the Trapper's feats.

That was speaking very generally, since I dunno what level ur at or what kind of setup ur running.

Response 2 days later ftw.Im too much of a skrub to even know what set up im running. Also is there anyway to know when to switch between melle and ranged?Cuz i just usually start ranged and have the mob come to me, then swich to melee >.> though i do switch to ranged real quck and use rain of arrows (if thats the name x:)then switch back to melee when all the mobs r close to me.

Eventually you will get a feat that adds two stacks that increase damage for melee or ranged atacks. The thing is that melee adds ranged stacks and vice versa. So, basically you will want to build those to stacks, spend them and build two for the other instance, wich means, 4 ranged, switch, 4 melee.

Sorry about english, not my native language.
