Is there need for Charity for this game?

reposterzreposterz Member Posts: 293 Arc User
Hey guys, just wondering can you make the game have a system of begging for Astral Diamonds or items? The point is can you have a new option of requesting for donations and charitable players with spare change can give you Astral Diamonds or items. It is not exactly a trading system, just for needy players who need a little extra charity.

Just think about it, is there a room for this type of thinking?

Ok, begging may sound extreme but if players really have spare change, it could make all the difference between grinding and then some? What a difference it would make for high level players to pity newbies or not so active players, I respect your view but just think about it, it might make this MMORPG win more awards.

I have no problem donating stuff to others. If I run something with someone and inspect them and they have an artifact "Ready to Upgrade", I will ask what they need to do it. My main has a stockpile of reagents. r5 enchants? No problem. Weapon/Armor enhancements? Good luck. I'm not that rich.
I'm not looking for forgiveness, and I'm way past asking permission. Earth just lost her best defender, so we're here to fight. And if you want to stand in our way, we'll fight you too.

No there is not. Apart from bot spammers and AH workers, beggars are the worst kind of people you can encounter in an MMO.

    ^^ This!
Begging, alms and charity are concepts stemming from systemic dispproportionality. Some people are naturally endowed with more resources and options than others and charity seeks to counterbalance that disparity. In an MMO, everyone starts on equal footing. In NWO especially there is nothing locked behind paywalls, so the only currency you really need is time and patience. There is absolutely zero nescessity for charity in this game.

Lol! Oh well, beggars cannot be choosers so to speak. I guess Red Cross supporters might be disappointed with the lack of cyber space support of their concepts.

Join a guild. Be active. Interact with guild mates. Be nice. There are many willing to help.

Charity without tax breaks... no thanks

I hate paying taxes! Why must I pay thousands of dollars in taxes when everything I buy is taxed anyways!

I wish my rogue could just resort to stealing and starting riots... Robin Hood Style >:) Raid Lord Neverembers caches of refinement points and ad...That´s what the poor who still have their dignity left, do...but this isn´t an rpg unfortunately, just a grindfest, damn :p

Sorry - too much room for abuse by gamers who like to game other human beings more than play actual games.

If I have extra to donate - I do so in a guild, where I have some confidence that the people I'm interacting with aren't actually bot spamming masterminds who love social engineering.

One thing I've been wishing for is some way to put in items, AD, companions, mounts, or something else into a sort of guild grab-bag where people could earn something from it. I'm not exactly sure how it should work, but basically some sort of mechanism where people could donate stuff that others could earn on their own.

@pr3stigex... I come from the beautiful city called Belgium;) Ask your nursery teacher where that is. Please refrain from ever addressing me again . TY.

On topic in simple words: begging bad. join guild help/advice. beg cryptic for changes to economy, if anything.

Doesn´t matter whom you were insulting by making assumptions about their nationality and age just because they had some strange idea - it´s still messed-up

Wow, so saving lives is on the same level as donating ADs to strangers in a MMO? No word for that BS.

I did not recruit new players or join a guild after my other guild members stopped playing until Stronghold, bc of this attitude.

'You got, I want', 'does not hurt you', 'could you loan', I heard it for years and I am sick of it.

Besides millions of ADs I spent on stronghold I gave gear marks, enchants, companions, you name it, to friends, guild members or associates. Out of the top of my head I can come up with 3 ppl who lent +2kk from me and never paid it back. Besides that, there are some dozens of armor/ weapon enchants on loan I never got back, not counting coal wards, refinement points, marks etc. Low estimate 10 kk AD realistic 30-50kk AD.

You might say, wow, if you can give away that kind of AD, you got no reason to complain, but fact is, that I played since beta, grinded, bought and sold for years, to get this things and there is no reason at all, that I am compelled to give things for free to ppl who are not willing to do the same.

MMOs have the same problem as RL greed, envy and laziness. Some ppl are not grateful, if you give them lesser weapon and armor enchants, DH, R8s, RPs and say 'here you go, you can do everything on your own now', but complain, that you 'hoard' T. enchants on your seldom played alts instead of 'lending' them to them.

BTW, I did not exploit anything or cheat anyone to get what I have. Another 'common' response from ppl who dont have what I got by playing the game.
