I'm unsure how you join voice chat. Can someone please explain it?

I know that voice communication is available because of the options.

So far my biggest frustration is trying to learn how different functions of the UI work. If anyone knows of a FAQ for PS4 I'd really appreciate being pointed n its direction.

    i have my mic on all the time i have yet to hear anyone

    As far as i have experienced there is an on/off button for voice chat in options. Also I have only used voice chat in parties. Helps if people have a mic and talk to lol

    Voice chat seems to be on as default for me. Mind you I don't tend to talk to randoms - at least I haven't yet. Have chatted with mates a few times though.

    Be in a group with other players that have both voice chat enabled, and a mic/headset hooked up.

    voice chat in game works while grouped as i was using it last night with friends but currently there is a bug with it that takes the item tool tip and comparison function up and by turning off voice it starts working again

    Quick question about voice chat - if we are all in a guild but there are too many of us to fit into a group (say 8 of us). If we use the in game chat and are in our stronghold area, will we be able to hear the guild members who are traveling with us but are not in our group? We are trying to figure out how to maximize the number of people who we can play with at once and still be able to communicate

    there is always party chat on PSN that you create and then you can all still talk if the game doesnt allow it

    That's what we did yesterday, we were just trying to figure out if there was an easier way to go above the 8 person PSN chat limit because we tend to end up with a full chat and the later people can't get in.

    So does it work in gamer or not? I know the party system works, I have used it before. I know my mic woks, because i tested it out yesterday. Do the other players know, that they have to turn on voice chat? And I was reading elsewhere that, I guess after a certain update, patch etc... you no longer see next to your character when grouped. You don't see a mic or volume symbol? Basically you no longer have, any indication? Correct.

    Ah, so that's why that happened. I can confirm the existence of this bug.
