Why is everyone acting like there is a huge nerf coming for the GWF, I hardly think that SS, WS, abd WMS getting damage penalties for hitting multiple targets is a " huge" nerf. Maybe a baby nerf

Yup, if they don't stop crapping on my characters I may quit soon too. Seems like the HR is the only toon that has been at least capable of top DPS the whole time since release and is now getting a buff. lol

Too late. They've pretty much destroyed the game for low level players and keep making it harder and harder for long time supporters to continue wanting to play. This isn't even just about nerfs but all the other bugs, glitches, bad PR moves, etc.

I believe what they are trying to do is break up the meta of GF+DC, as it stands the majority of people look for that combo vs a healadin + gf combo or other possible combo's. I think its a little drastic to cap at 25%, I think that is to get ready for the new dungeon and make it challenging.
They ninja nerfed SoD on TR for Mod 6, so maybe it is ninja. But, my guess is it will be in the patchnotes somewhere down the line.
To be reasonable that was a giant exploit/glitch. I don't see any of the GWF powers on the same level. But who knows until the changes happen. I guess ill be sitting on my resources until it is known.
How is it that we can have content released that is so unbalanced and so untested that we need all of these adjustments. I used to think that the creators and developers don't play this game, but now I know they do not. I would think that they could have some sort of system to test various combinations and interactions of powers, but I guess they just counted on thousand of people making millions of build to expose their broken classes.
The GWF is pretty beastly, I have one that I just built, no boons, no overflow points, nothing special for enchants, no artifact weapons, just the drowcraft set and lostmauths'; and at 2.6K IL it feels almost as strong in solo play as my 3.7K IL TR executioner build that has all boons etc....That seems to me like a slight imbalance, not that the two classes should be the same, I get that, but it feels like my 2.6K GWF would do about the same damage as a TR that is 1000 IL higher....
I'm ok with base damage being reduced for the GWF, so long as they provide some utility in return. The main problem however is that once you do this and bring their damage in line with ever other class GWFs will be the least desirable class in the game to play. Weapon fighters bring 0 utility to a party providing minimal buffs (GWF mark and battle fury are crappy team buffs), no CC, and have to lowest survivability aside from warlocks without a dodge. What good is high defense when any HAMSTER trash mob in a dungeon can one shot you?
This is exactly how it was in mod 5, which resulted in GWFs being auto booted from dungeons in pug group queues. Glad to see Cryptic is making the same exact mistake again in an attempt to make content "hard" by stripping dps rather than coming up with a more creative way (like giving the class some utility in return). To be 100% honest nothing should be "balance" just weak n' strong points as well as a well rounded types. We don't want the same class as all classes...

This reason is why a gwf does dps, it's there strong point "melee" and good off side tanking, they don't buff really so its all they have. HR's they buff, great dmg (depending on how well you know your class) not really tanky so that there weak spot. Every class should be different, if you sit down and think about it, should a guy with a giant sword deal more damage than idk daggers? Are enemies maybe a bit more resistant to magic than normal weapons? Is it the other way around? I just want you guys to think.

Solo in sharandar is way different than a dungeon, I guarantee u wouldn't out DPS a 3.7 TR on a 2.6 GWF.
Thats exactly the thing with GWF, we are there to do massive damage. We have no purpose. A HR can trap and root, a TR will be able to occupy one of the scorpion while we kill the other one and dodge etc
GWF are just there to bash brains out. So nerfing them is a very bad move. Then again nerfing a GF is pretty bad move too.
You know the feeling i have? They give all the power to a class to make it look like beast, so everybody then make that class, pay to get the character decent in a reasonable ammount of time, and then months later they just trash that class and pick a new one as new good class. So now people rinse and repeat thus bringing money again.

The reason is simple, i tough they where done with there shenanigans and exploiting players, the game was finally getting nice and i had nothing to complain. Im not saying the coal ward scandal is forgotten, or that the lostmauth nerf didn't annoy me a bit, but for the first one its a while ago and i was ok to finally turn the page, and for the second one it was nothing game breaking.
But now, i kinda have a feeling instead of releasing a new dungeon with original stuff etc, they just decide to go the lazy route and nerf everybody pretty much so the dungeon will be hard. Stop giving us new boons and new powers if its to nerf the rest, thats like me giving you 100$ and then asking for 5x 20s in return....
Kinda feel there playing yoyo and testing out the patience of the players. See how far they can push them without loosing them to make the most money out of them without loosing them.
It ain't fun when you have a feeling of progression like getting your artifact to mythic and your weapons to legendary only to realize you hit less than before due to a damn nerfing. It completely kill the fun of leveling up a character.
And i am sorry but no i am not making any other characters. It take too much time to lev up one. Over a year im playing this game, 70$ in real money droped (price of a new game, wich i find reasonable) and FINALLY my GWF is going to a point where i feel nice about him. 3 legendary artifact, 1 close to mythic, another at mythic. Weapons legendary so i only have the neck and belt left. Enchantements wise i got a bunch at 10 or 11, finally.
So i can focus again on my GF because finally people want it again in dungeon, so i start lev him up again and then oh i hear that he will more or less turn into an even boring character that he already is to play. Pretty much just a sponge without doing anything else.
I do have a third character that i use as bank/praying/profession, but i have 0 boon on it, never plan on doing anything else with it cause i have my hands full of my 2 characters already. Thats it.
So if both the GWF and GF become trash then what? Im stuck with no character to have fun with and do the new achievements?
Hell its one thing to replace gear we have by new one, like dragonflight being replace by that new gear from the new expension, im not saying its not annoying to start over again, but ok i guess its part of the MMO mentality. But if im to get strip of my powers so its even harder and all to get the new armors, its very annoying.
And im sure you will once again put an achievement in the like of "do castle never 25 times" for the new dungeon so this mean what? Ill have to be somewhat "carried" by my guild even tough im over 3K with a pretty solid builded character. Not encouraging really.

It definitely looks like they are trying to equalise the classes by reducing them all to a common low point and reduce their ability to magnify each other by cross-over buffing.
This also allows them to address the dungeon difficulty issue with having to adjust the dungeons - and by making buffs give static bonuses that are not multipliable they are correcting broken interactions.
It's potentially as big a come-down as the CW received & they will lose players, but I understand why they are doing it - the alternative was to buff those classes that were having a harder time & actually increasing the problems many people have been complaining about.
I'm guessing their goal is to finish the balancing for the PS4 release.

All I have to say is if they nerf the GWF I'm done with this game. Good thing I haven't spent a single dollar on this game, but the time I have invested in levelling up my toon to make it barely decent... Thanks but no, thanks.
The GWF needs a nerf, as does the SW. Each DPS class should be able to do the same, or at least close to the same, DPS in any given situation. Excluding the broken SW, the GWF can out DPS every other class with the same gear by millions. So that would indicate it needs a nerf. They need to nerf each class like they did to the TR (regarding TR in PvE).

LOL I see them all over the place and routinely see two others in PUG CN runs, I have a SW that I use specifically for CN because its ranged and does a HAMSTER ton of damage. SW has life steal and a built in companion/tank.
this game is becoming worst with every update they made, they have nerfed gwf on mod 5, so i have changed to other char, to sw, then they have returned the glory to the gwf, but with a problem, they can't handle with mobs because of his low defense even with 15k defense, and why should a char with 120 crit severity do the same damage as chars with 80% or 90%? i never saw a char with a giant sword doing less damage than others with a mini weapon (lol). This time i will not waste time leveling up other char, i almost have stopped to play this game because of the lostmouth set nerf, one more nerf to the gwf and it's one more player at 3.8k abandoning this game. i'm playing this game for more than 2 years and it was a good game on mod 2 and 3, after that, it was allways becoming worst and worst. i will stop playing this game after the new for sure if they nerf more the gwf. I dont recomend this game to anyone, that is the truth, there are many games much more fun and cheaper than this trash.
Because remember when they couldn't even scale enemies in dungeons, standard mobs hit for 3+ million. They just removed 90% of the dungeons all together. The way I see it is if you ask a player who's never played the game before to look at the classes on the create character screen which is a dps class I guarantee 95% would pick the gwf because he has a big *** sword.....its what a gwf does in many other mmo's, but nope not this game after the nerf. If we are really meant to do the same dps as other classes then why give us the option to be any class? remove them all and have one class because what is the actual point now? my gwf has no dodge, no decent party buffs, no decent tanking ability, all it has is dps. If the really do nerf this class and others to the ground that's it I'm done with this game, I have never played an mmo (I've played so many I've lost count) that has no clue how to make classes correctly. The only reason this game has players is because it was the only free to play mmo on xbox one but once there's more this game will be dead. I'm already thinking of moving onto a certain other game that does everything so much better, I've really lost faith with this game and the company behind it.

I think GWF's are indeed Overpowered. I agree that GWF's should deal some more dmg than other classes because they are melee fighters, cant dodge nor block, neither do they have any decent group buffs but GWF's hit for way too much if compared to other classes.

I think that a giant sword indeed deals more dmg than some tiny daggers but the daggers can hit much faster and therefore should have more dps. I also think that magic should deal more dmg than physical attacks because I just cant see how metal, leather or cloth armor could protect your from fire/ necrotic/ etc. spells. But this game is missing Mana, so without that force limiting the use of spiritual spells the dmg should probably be lower.
