What so goldsellers just completely ignored the Russian servers? I find that pretty unlikely.
If there is not enough people paying real money to buy from bots (such as buying AD), they lose money or opportunity cost. The resource that would be used in Russian servers (to earn $1) could have a better return in North American server (to earn $10).

paywalls should skip weeks to months of grinding.. NOT years.. that's ridiculous.
Again, I already have 3 toons with fully 4 refined artificats and while , Ive been guilty of buying cwards, Ive never purchased .. ever regular AD for rp or rp from the zen store.. not once. Nor will I , because the sheer amount you would have to pay for is beyond real reason.
It goes back to the costing methodology, GO ahead reduce RP in the game, but THEN reduce the cost. This isnt just about me, or you , or any of us in this thread posting. This is about new players logging on, seeing that it would take them a couple years , logging off and finding a more reasonable game, that doesnt require botting to progress. They have a terrible player retention problem in this game (progression modeling, lack of content, some pvp balance issues, server frame rate issues) that they seem to shoot themselves in the foot more often then not. Reduction of RP doesnt help them.. no one will buy RP (or maybe the smallest amount of people) people will however, maybe impulse buy a cward to finish one more upgrade. There is a vast difference between the two.
Ive offered my own solutions (BTA RP only, but reduce cost by 50-75% across the board on items) , Ironzerg said his piece in his (play for progression).
I dont care how they do it, but reasonable progression in mmos , doesnt require years of 40 hour work weeks to play.
By putting such a huge grind, it lowers the ablility of progression and AGAIN, another pet peeve of mine, extends power curve of playerbase, so they cant , reasonable MAKE game play for less then the bottom third of the players
You want to continue have HAMSTER like CN thrown at us for end game ? The only time you struggle in CN is if you bring all melee and you get green balls on orcus.. other then that, its quite easy and you all know it. If it wasnt for the fact that its slightly longer then elol and you basically make the same on both, I would run more CNs then I do, but after running 300.. Ive earned now 3 enchants 8, that were worth it and on average , make no more then my normal t1 run, but it takes up to ten minutes longer.. so not worth it, on a per ad per minute playtime, to me anyways.. I still like to do a few a week, hoping against hope that some stupid +5 ring of use will drop.
There were no SMoPs before the leadership nerf. Stacks of rank 5s were also 1/4 of what they are now : \
That's kind of crazy when you consider how the market was drowning in AD.
So, are you saying after leadership AD nerf, we still have a lot of AD collectively? I guess I should increase my RP production before they nerf it.
No I'm saying that pre-leadership there were massive amounts of AD being generated and it still couldn't get prices to increase to what they are now. Heck, supply has been cut so hard that the increase in price is worse than the loss of leadership.
Stacks of r5s without leadership were ~3-4k. They were ~15k before the leadership nerf. There was so much AD that it quadrupled the price of enchants. Now we have so few enchants hitting the market that prices have increased to ten times what they were.
Older players already have 4 x mythics on all their toons thanks to bots, and a legendary equipments thanks to being able to divert most of their self-generated RP towards them. If not, then their leadership is at max and they can generate the RP themselves going forward. They can save the coffers and bags for double-enchant/RP weekend. They have it made.
Newer players are f*****. They don't know any better to complain. Once they realize the 17-27 holes they need to fill, the 100s of millions of RP needed to refine them, and the crappy RNG that costs them way more pres wards than expected to upgrade, they'll throw in the towel before raising a stink.

Your backlog has no significance for the AD you earn. I had 2 KK backlog on my main for years. With one char and 35k AD to refine, you are maxed at 245k AD a week. With 10 alts and LS maxed your cap was 1.9 kk AD a week and you had a base influx of ca 750 k - 1 kk AD from LS.
Sure it has a significance. As long as my backlog is >36k, I can earn the maximum of ADs every day. I never had such a backlog before leadership was changed. So for ME (since you took the right to speak for everyone) the change worked well and I make much more AD than before.
Running LS on many chars was neither botting nor exploiting, LS itself was a stupid move by cryptic and blaming the players for the flaws in their game design is lame.
Making ADs via leadership was the very definition of botting. Owner-approved, hence not exploiting, but botting nontheless. I agree though that making ADs via leadership was a flawed idea by Cryptic from the very beginning.

Run leveling dungeons, earn seals of adventurer and exchange those for r5. Problem solved. Even without spending a single AD.

You can earn the maximum amount of AD per day on that one character. I make nearly 30k just doing invoking on 10 toons (once they're all 70 it'll be exactly 33k from the ten, thanks to my current VIP level). A massive surplus on one character just means you didn't realize that the daily limit is per character. Without much effort I can amass 100k across those 10 toons without maxing out any of them; super easily if I'm selling lockbox rewards. People closer/at the character slot limit can get upwards of 150k a day from invoking alone.
Your backlog basically just gives you an easy way to get 36k a day while you're basically not playing the game for a long time. Which if you intend to stop playing the game for stretches here and there doesn't sound so bad, but if you had spread the wealth around you would have already converted much of that surplus in refined AD, so you're always just behind in production.

Apparently, the difference between us is not that you realized that the maximum is per character and I did not (i know that), it is rather that I have created my chars for playing (!) while you made most of them them for botting/generating ADs obviously. All of my chars are level 70 and have a decent gear with IL > 2.5k. I play them regularly. For having fun.
The other difference between us seems to be that I know and accept that not everyone is playing the game the way I play it. Hence I would never dare to speak for "everyone" when I do not like a particular part of the game.

Except you're attempting to talk about overall AD production throughout the game, and trying to counter the "nerfing LS removed a lot of AD production from the game" point with "but I have a huge backlog, which I never had before, so that's not true" and trying to support it with "I don't actually try to produce AD as well as I could, because I don't mind wasting my time, and I know a lot of people, especially those who botted and used LS, don't do that, and therefore I am the morally superior human I WIN HAHAHAHAH!"
Jesus tap-dancing christ, do you even listen to yourself?

I do, but I suggest you try to understand what you read. This is not about winning an argument, unless your ego is so small that you need to win an argument in an internet forum to make you feel... greater? No idea. I never tried to counter the "nerfing LS removed a lot of AD production from the game" point with anything. It does not even help your cause/your small ego that you try to invent some bs I allegedly said ("I know a lot of people..."? When did I say such?)
I simply tried to counter the nonsense you claimed: "[...]and EVERYONE is making a lot less ad now[...]". No, not EVERYONE.

end of the day, they are trying to make money. they dont want you to progress too quickly because they have to then produce new content faster. they dont want you to get things easy, because then what would you spend your hard earned cash on? if you can get all the wards, refines and ad that you need just by playing a couple of hours a day, you arent going to buy any zen are you.
i wouldnt mind the idea of spending my cash, but i refuse to do so when the things that are already in game are absolute garbage like the lag issues that just drive me nuts, and the fact that practically everything is broken, like the brand new companion that procs the bonding stones five times more than its meant to. What exactly is my money going towards if i do choose to spend it? not fixing the servers. not spending more time to test before making things live. not taking the time to make new dungeons instead of removing them all for no apparent reason and not bringing them back. not serving us up old dungeons with some stupid new content thrown in there like a mish mash. I could go on...
if i wasnt an established player, and tried to play this game now how it is, i would have not lasted very long and moved along to find something better and beleive me, its happening. our retention of new players is just not high despite all our help, and even older players are giving it up. to be honest, if i didnt love playing with my guildmates so much, i prolly would have moved along by now too.

Again, I had a backlog of more then 2.000.000 on my main. I was able to refine 24k a day on this char. If I had a backlog of 5.000.000.000 (if possible) I would have been able to refine ... 24k AD a day on this char. That is why your backlog has no significance for your daily ADs. Of significance are, that the cap was raised and if you can reach this cap. How you do it is of no consequence for the ADs generated.
The definition of botting is 'Automated gameplay. Generally by using programs to play games for you'. We either use different dictionaries or you are wrong. Just the fact, that a task is simple and repetitive does not qualify as botting. Otherwise running CN with a BIS party would be botting, too.
Great, they stopped the bots and now we're stuck with stacks of r5s at 35k+, lesser thaum/union/stability/power at 100k+ etc.
I don't get why there isn't a bigger stink. Basically we're letting Cryptic get away with the equivalent of removing AD from leadership and do nothing about it.
Well.. it is their company and it is their game. I see no reason for them to be upset by those AH prices. What would you do about it? Go on Strike?
...
Christ I knew you were clueless but that's a new low. They should be concerned about those prices because it means there aren't enough enchants being generated that people have anything to sell. This is bad for the game because players cannot gather enough RP to progress at a reasonable rate. Basically they're forcing players into a corner where they have to create a leadership army to get enough RP but that takes months and when you have players that are unable to improve their characters much for months at a time that's bad for player retention. They're already losing players as it is and this certainly isn't helping things.

How many hours do you think it would take to get 48 stacks doing that? This is a pretty obvious example of uninformed people being part of the problem. Some people just don't understand how much RP they need : \

Misunderstanding here, I guess, as I did not mention that in times where you couldn't make that much AD by playing (but by leadership army), I almost never had a backlog at all. So I could not refine 24k per day. That's why I said the backlog has a significance - for ME.

Well, who made the ADs then? I thought it was your leadership army, no? What else is that army than "automated gameplay"? ;-) (And yes, in that sense all the professions is owner-sanctioned and -approved botting.) I use the same dictionary (found the exacty same words), but it seems we have a different interpretation. Could be worse. ;-)

I'd rather say that you are a great example of ppl who want to have it all and now. I know how many RP I need, but I have no problem that it takes time. My main is 3 years old now, he's 3.1k "only", 3 of 4 artifact equipment at max level, 2 of 4 artifacts at max level, trans lightning enchantment, normal soulforged, not a single R10, all r9 and guess what - it is still fun to play him. I do not care if it takes three more years to make him BiS, I do not need to buy r5s from the AH for a ridiculous price.
And if you play 24h a day, you can make around 2,5 stacks r5s per day by running leveling dungeons. So it would take around 20 days continuous play to get your 48 stacks. Could be worse. ;-)

No one plays 24 hours a day. The average time played for most players is probably around 2 hours a day. So you're basically expecting people to grind nothing but leveling dungeons for ~240 days to get enough RP to bring one artifact to mythic.

Well, there are at least 2 different player base. I guess I am in the same camp with therealprotex. I don't need trans enchantment and I don't need a 4k toon. My 3 "playable to all PVE content toons" are 3.2K, 3k and 2.8k. I personally do not force myself to improve my character unless I feel there is a need. A 2xRP event is the time for me to clear inventory space.
That is why my character is never BiS because I don't feel like investing so much with not that much in return. When I consider my character hit the peak (as he can clear all PVE content without suffering), I build a new character. I invest for the next one. I don't push myself to buy anything.
My GWF has a vorpal ready to be upgraded to trans. I have everything (AD, c-ward, etc) to upgrade it but I decide not to because I don't like spending a few hundred K of AD to buy the GMOP, SMOP for that little improvement that my GWF does not need. Those AD can be used somewhere else. I am waiting for GMOP, SMOP drops.
When you feel the price of RP in AH is bad, I don't feel a thing because I just don't buy RP. I don't need my character to be in BiS in a few months or in a few years. My characters are NEVER in BiS because I know they will never be. Even if they are in BiS, they will not be soon after.

I have a leadership army which i spent HOURS on. That truly is not botting. I don't make nearly what i use to, but i still enjoy the game. The rp from LS comes no where close to the AD it use to produce but the grind is still part of the game for me. Yes, they need to improve game in soo many ways and like some of you if i hadn't so many hours and relationships invested in the game I may have left for good long ago. When you consider how much resources are going into upgrading Perfect Vorpal to Pure/Transcendent for a minuscule increase, it really isn't worth going beyond Perfect - unless you're one of those players who likes to flex their epeen.
I had a Perfect Vorpal fully refined and ready to be upgraded, then I found out how sh!tty the increase was and promptly sold my refined Perfect Vorpal and made a new one. Glad I didn't go through with it.

1) Come up with solution after analysis of bots.
2) Take community feedback, and apply it to another option.
3) Wait for more bot reports to come in, and adjust to new problem.
Pretty much how it goes.
Winning PvP might give a rank 4-6 for the match too?
Include a rank 4-6 in the end chest for a Skirmish?
Bosses drop a rank 4-6 in dungeons?
There's always fluctuations in the market. Best you can do is try to not buy from bots on the AH, and report bots ASAP.

The other difference between us seems to be that I know and accept that not everyone is playing the game the way I play it. Hence I would never dare to speak for "everyone" when I do not like a particular part of the game.
Jesus tap-dancing christ, do you even listen to yourself?
I simply tried to counter the nonsense you claimed: "[...]and EVERYONE is making a lot less ad now[...]". No, not EVERYONE.
No idea how to put that even simpler now...
i wouldnt mind the idea of spending my cash, but i refuse to do so when the things that are already in game are absolute garbage like the lag issues that just drive me nuts, and the fact that practically everything is broken, like the brand new companion that procs the bonding stones five times more than its meant to.

The definition of botting is 'Automated gameplay. Generally by using programs to play games for you'. We either use different dictionaries or you are wrong. Just the fact, that a task is simple and repetitive does not qualify as botting. Otherwise running CN with a BIS party would be botting, too.
I had a Perfect Vorpal fully refined and ready to be upgraded, then I found out how sh!tty the increase was and promptly sold my refined Perfect Vorpal and made a new one. Glad I didn't go through with it.
The most important thing in life is to be yourself. Unless you can be Batman. Always be Batman.

I only buy a few and I don't mind paying the price... the price is set by the market
