I'm still irritated that they removed wards etc. from the Tarmalune Trade Store right after VIP was released. That was one of the most dirty underhanded shady nasty tricks a company ever pulled on its player base. I personally haven't spent a penny on Neverwinter since they did that.
And I doubt I will ever stop being irritated by it. I mean, its been months since that happened and my grudge meter is still at full...
Then they added the companion for the 6 Month VIP purchase... I mean wtf?!??! I bought the 6 month VIP, Why shouldn't it be back dated to anyone who bought more than 6 months worth of VIP?
Another game I play continues to add and back date and give out for free, loyalty rewards to its player base. In fact, everytime a new DLC is released, everyone who either purchases the DLC out right or sub's gets the free 'thing'.

This exactly. I want to like this game, but the bussiness model is so exploitive, its hard to continue to invest my play time. They need to do away with the eastern market startegies and take a look at some of the titles that know how to sell to westerners. There are so many games, that are far less dishonest, and don't follw the problem-reaction-solution game plan that this game does. They need to understand that westeners appreciate, and pay for, added value
As a disabled woman with a limited income, I spend a good deal of time playing this game. Although, I spend most of it playing alone, as I am not able to follow chat while I play (which makes it VERY difficult sometimes). My BF plays, when he can, and we have a few friends that play (once in a while). We are a very small guild and communicate via a voice server when we play together.
I have to say, there are things I really like about having V.I.P. (a gift every month from my BF), the keys are great when they drop something good (which doesn't happen too often). Pretty much everything is good, although, I don't use the MM Portal or the Professions much. I can think of a few things that would be much better, like a monthly zen stipend or something. My major problem is that since the changes, it is almost impossible to upgrade anything or to make AD...
Now that the coalescent wards are gone, they sell for INSANE amounts of AD on auction, or you have to spend real money from the Zen Market. Playing alone, I can't run the dungeons so it's not possible for me to make a lot of AD to trade on the exchange. It was great when the wards were available in game, but now, the only in game chance is through the celestial coffer box, and it took almost 9 months this last time to get one to drop! I have every single enchantment on ALL 7 of my characters ready to upgrade and no way to get any wards without bankrupting my characters.
As for the Trade Bars, they rarely drop from the boxes, and when they do, you're lucky to get 5. I was saving mine to buy a special companion (but a while back, they dropped them to green), so I decided on a mount instead. I've been playing now for about 3 yrs and am finally almost at 2000 (having condensed them from all of my characters). Granted, a while back I bought two or three wards, but I also had idols that gave me bars at the time...
The developers said that these changes were going to be a good thing and would stabilize the AD market, when in fact all they did was drive prices up so high that people like me CAN'T progress! I think they need to take a good look at making some improvements to V.I.P. rewards, the AD market and adding something back to leadership profession, also take another look at bringing back an in game way to get wards. People like me would like to be able to have better enchantments, be able to upgrade our artifacts and gear too, but if things stay as they are now, we can't. You can only burn so many expensive Marks before you go completely broke. I only hope somebody in the know, takes the time to read all these comments and actually listens to everything everyone has said. There are some really good points and suggestions made here.
I'm sorry to ramble, but when you are hampered by disability and find a world that you love, that is a means of escape from the pain and restrictions of your everyday life, it is frustrating when it gets to the point of being taken from you because you have no means to continue on with it. It sucks. Before I was introduced to this game, I played Neverwinter Nights for years... Neverwinter is my favorite world. I just don't want to have to start over in another game after so long and so many hours of character building and working so long and hard for the things I do have in this game.
