80% off character slots is good

Give price reductions more like that on everything permanently and you'd find I and a lot of other players mysteriously have way more money to spend on your game than they ever did before.

This game is currently very alt unfriendly and luring players with huge discounts on extra slots seems counter productive. I am all for sales on stuff which will make the game more playable, but not this.
    Definitely not an Arc User.

Yeah, it's certainly suspicious that it comes right before a new mod launches and soon after they neutered the t-bar store, leading to noticeably inflated prices on zen and enchantments across the board.

So how exactly do these leadership vouchers work? Do you need to be guilded and on the stronghold map to redeem them? Is this AD something that can benefit a player, or is it just a way to feed the guild coffers?

The only thing vouchers are good for is donating them to your guild's coffer.

They're BtA though so you can transfer them from your alts to your characters that are in your guild.

Bummer. Here I was getting my hopes up.

Still will basically eliminate the need for players to donate actual AD to their coffers.

Not alt friendly? It is the most alt friendly period ever in NW at the moment.

Parts will get better once mod 9 hits and the indicated removal of AD from boon tasks is put into effect. Though getting lostmauth's sets and r12's and companions etc. for everyone has basically only gotten more expensive lately. You can make functional 2k-2.5k toons without a tremendous pain, at least, but it's still pretty costly and you're still likely to have a lot of "not even close to BiS" companions.

And then other parts will likely get way worse with mod 9, such as mounts.

Lostmauth set takes like a week of running T1s on one character to get now : |

Enchants are the real cap now that we have to spend 4k per pres ward.

I bought 4 more character slots yesterday, bringing my total number of slots to 25. I have 7 empties now. Trying to decide what to do with them.

Roll a Sentinel GWF and TRY to tank a dungeon. lol
I've tanked on my Destroyer GWF (kinda). I don't have the kind of cash to support tanking with another character that isn't really considered a tanking class.

Mod 8 is already easier to build an alt than before. Your main char(s) can keep on giving/buying useful gears to the alt. Before, the alt needs to get the gear themselves. If you have extra +4, legendary rings, gives them to alt. Alt 1 has a better one now? Pass those ring to alt 2. etc. My mule alt could have a full set of dragonflight without doing a battle after level 4 (of course, he has no boon, feat not assigned, etc). If your alt is in the same class, you can pass them your legendary weapons. e.g. my main is a GWF who now uses Twisted but he also has the burning one from fire. I am now feeding the burning set so that I can pass the set to my another GWF with different build.

You could not do any of these in older mod.

Alt does not have to be BiS. They are alt not the main.

The main barrier to having an effective character is and always will be enchants, artifacts, and artifact equipment. Nothing about that has changed and if you can get a full set of DF gear you could've had your guildies drag you through etos for elven gear too. Passing main/offhands to another alt is so ... I mean I get that's it's effective but gearing another GWF isn't something I can ever see being interested in.

    That was an example.

My GWF already passed the first twisted to my TR. He will eventually get the twisted off hand and pass that to the TR (and probably other alts).

The difference is my main char can get DF easily for my alt and when I was helping other guildies getting their first set.
Basically, when I am helping the guild, I have excessful fangs I have to spend. Those are 'freebie' for the alt.
In earlier mod, those are bound to char. If my GWF got a good ring and if he equipped it, it stayed with him forever before.
Now, I can pass that ring around among alts.

Wait I thought we were capped at 50? Did they change the limit?

Pre-mod 8 you got your artifact set for free : |

Either way the main barriers to making an effective alt are still in place. Most of your stats still come from your companion, artifacts and enchants getting armor really has always been the easiest part of gearing a character. Pre-tradebar store nerf I'd agree that alts were easy to make. Now not so much.

If you bought a pack that includes character slot, you will have one extra. I think there are 3 packs at the moment.

Its 50 slots, +2 base, +1 for each pack that contain them. I got the guardian pack just for levelling alts which gave me the 53rd.

For main hand/off hand and rings, I guess you are looking at the cost while I am looking at the effort.
Even though the Artifact weapon set was free in pre-mod 8, the alt itself needed to deal with the effort.
While in mod 8, there is almost no effort because those are spill over from the main.
That is how I see that more alt friendly.

e.g. Pre-mod 8, getting a BiS ring means the toon itself had to level up jewelcrafting and then made a personal ring which could not be shared.

Well like you said you don't need to be BiS on an alt. The difference between a double slotted ring and elemental alliance ring is pretty marginal. If you're talking BiS rings are a very small part effort and cost involved in gearing a toon anyways.
