Lumens - what do i do with them

i got my simril artifact to purple . . . and now i cant use any of the spare lumens i have enough to get my artifact halfway to orange and now , with the limit at purple and a ton of refining points are going to be lost and i worked hours for some of them. . wouldnt be so bad if it were account bound but char bound means i will loose a coupla tens of thousands of refining points.

just let me put them into my artifact till the festival is gone.

It was clearly stated in the Patch notes:

The "Beacon of Simril" may only be upgraded to rank 60 (epic) using "simril refinement" items.
The "Beacon of Simril" may be further upgraded from rank 60 (epic) to rank 140 (mythic) using normal refinement methods, this can be done regardless of whether the Simril event is active.
The "Beacon of Simril" may not be refined into another artifact, regardless of rank.

So you didn't need to "work hours" to grind those refining points.

It's still bogus to shower players with HAMSTER they can't use, regardless of where they stipulate it in the patch notes.. The Simril refining stuff should be enabled through the end of the festival, regardless of what level the artifact is.

My pack is going to reek of fish until the midsummer festival..
